This is a new rendition and look of my character Ecks Leoante, the best friend and second in command (if grouped). The original look of Ecks Leoante was posted a little over 3 years ago and located at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/2406581/ in my scraps gallery.
I changed his weapon from a miniature crossbow to a relatively large one with a larger than normal bow part nearly the size and width of an English Bow of yew, (an English Bow is an average 6' wide and Ecks Leoante's crossbow is 5'10'' wide). Also, I took out the part that Ecks Leoante uses magic and made him more of an inventor and tinkerer in that he makes his own weapons and customizes and improves upon them. Also, I have it now that he also makes and operates gunpowder based weapons such as the Musket, Blunderbuss, Pistolet and the Nest of Bees. The pistolet is another name for an early era style of pistol utilized by musketeers. A link to each style of firearm are provided in links below for reference.
Of the gunpowder weapons Ecks Leoante uses and customizes, his favorite is the Nest of Bees since, as he considers it, elegant in design and useful due to the abundance of arrows and bolts that he has due in part of his main weapon, the crossbow. Most others, however, know him more for his customized blunderbuss. The blunderbuss in question is nicknamed the Krakatoa Class Blunderbuss due to its deafening sound as well as its large, wide and powerful blast. Ecks Leoante marketed his customized blunderbuss and, due to it's quality handmade craftsmanship and materials, is an expensive high end weapon sought out by the finest and / or richest of fighters who specialize in ballistic styles of fighting.
His main weapon, however, is the crossbow which he has customized with great care. It uses micro sized parts and is able to hold an excessive amount of arrows and bolts, more so than can be imagined by the look of the crossbow. If the need arises, the crossbow can be dismantled in such a way so as to be used like a standard bow, with the main body of the weapon acting like a quiver. It can also be further dismantled for compact storage in a small compact box for travel. It also has a function that, at the press of a strategically placed button, mechanically unfold as it is pulled out from the back and refold as it is placed back in the holster built into the back side of Ecks Leoante's armor. The function is much like an umbrella that opens and closes at the press of a button.
Ecks Leoante, on a personal basis, is Domineus Dan's best friend and his oldest of friends. This is due in part of Ecks Leoante's and Domineus Dan's fathers being, themselves, longtime friends and rivals (competitive style of rivals) since they met in a military academy. Also, both Ecks Leoante and Domineus Dan had the luck of their families being stationed in the same cities as both their fathers rose through the ranks and prestige. As Domineus Dan specialized in melee style of combat, mastering swords of many types and styles, Ecks Leoante specialized and learned the styles of ballistic combat. Also, whereas Domineus Dan became a defender and fighter against the forces of evil (such as demons, monsters and such), Ecks Leoante became a fighter and protector for civil peace as a city prefect. At times, both, and others, are grouped together when special unforeseen circumstances arise. An example of such a need for a pairing would be a gang uses dark magic to make a demon control a portion of a civilian population in the capital and the specialty of multiple branches of offense and defense are needed.
Ecks Leoante and Domineus Dan were taught by the same mentor, Jacques el Noble. As well, when not grouped together, both Ecks Leoante and Domineus Dan work in the same unit and profession as their fathers. Due to this and their faster than usual rise through the ranks, both constantly receive speculation and hear of gossip that their success is due to their fathers and not an honest earning. As well, their fathers are harder on them both due to such speculations and such among the other soldiers and to improve them since both Ecks Leoante and Domineus Dan are next in line to the role of Lord in each of their respected families.
The personality of Ecks Leoante is cool, calm and levelheaded. Also, he is serene and thinks logically. However, due to his generally expression and tone of voice, he is often underestimated as being a brash, cocky and bad boy type of fighter. As well, like Domineus Dan, by whom is also underestimated for a different manner, Ecks Leoante is a brilliant strategist second only to his best friend Domineus Dan.
While in uniform, Ecks Leoante uses a uniform standard for ballistic style fighters. His cape is half the length than the standard cape of melee fighters to allow quicker movements. The cape is also wider than normal to block out any distracting light while aiming. The armor a cloth style of Kevlar like armor for fluid quick movement. The gloves are split on the underside for further bending for better aiming. The boots are doubly split on the front and back so as to bend further than usual as the fighter kneels down for better aiming or to allow quicker movement. The torso armor is a simple brief style for better flexibility and quicker, more fluid movements of the legs when moving about. Also, the chest armor lacks pauldrons for extra lightness and fluid movement of the arms. Ecks Leoante's style of hair is not from a standard of hairstyle but rather from him still being a juvenile in the species of lion men that Ecks Leoante is descended. The wrap on Ecks Leoante's arm is to add to the brash bad boy look to make his opponents underestimate him.
When not in uniform, Ecks Leoante wears fashionable male clothing as opposed to Domineus, by whom, prefers more casual clothing. Also unlike Domineus Dan, Ecks Leoante likes to wear jewelry such as earrings, rings and necklaces (male types). His favorite jewelry is a set of blue starburst cut diamond earrings in platinum settings. They are stud earrings of varying size that he places on the outside portion of his ears. His preference for necklace is a thick rope platinum necklace. His rings are simple platinum rings with a square top and with his crest inlaid on the top. His choice for platinum and blue diamonds, besides showing off his wealth from the earnings of his inventions and customizing of weapons, are that they contrast nicely with his golden fur.
Physically, Ecks Leoante has a similar build to Domineus Dan’s with the key differences being that his mass and the ripped quality of his muscles are ten percent less than Domineus Dan’s. Also, the shape of his muscles are noticeably more aerodynamic with a tension in the fibers. The reason for this is so that Ecks Leoante will have the strength to pull on the string of his bows and crossbows for greater force and power upon the arrow and / or bolt. As well, the high tension of the muscle fibers and the aerodynamic qualities of the muscles in his body allow for quick rapid reload as well as rapid and finesse movements. In the end, though Ecks Leoante is not as strong as Domineus Dan, he is, in fact, much quicker and has the capacity for greater reflexes than Domineus Dan.
