In this picture, D. Dan is sitting on the ledge of a rocky cliff face area overlooking a deep and wide valley that is cut in the middle by a wide river and waterfall.
The valley has farmland and a small town in view. In the background one can see the bottom of an epic sized wall that has such dizzying height that it disappears behind the cloud line before popping briefly above it. Above the top of the wall one can see the tops of the tallest skyscrapers belonging to a massive city that lay behind the wall.
The city shown is not the capital where D. Dan lives, but rather a city in another kingdom where his oldest sister lives. The city lays in a mountainous region with the average feet above sea level is much higher than his home city where the skyscrapers, though taller than the ones in this city, only reach above the first layer of clouds due to the difference in altitude.
The city shown is built in a similar fashion as his home city in that an artificial plateau was constructed and held in place by the walls. The buildings shown at the angle is about 85 percent of their total height. The city shown is also much smaller than D. Dan's home city and more long than round since the artificial plateau is built along the top of a short range of mountains. The walls also keep most of the clouds from spilling over the city making most of the days clear.
The land and city is colder than most kingdoms and the city lies in thin air. As such, most of those that live here are used to thin air when in the city, or simply get used to it much like the cold. The plants and crops grown are either engineered or naturally resistant to the cold thin air.
