Tails in a blender

set default image size: small | medium | wide
Finally got a Kabalmystic model into blender. not hard, but still a lot of work to go.
The tail tips are fucked up, the rigging doesn't have an IK, I don't know how to use flexes, assuming they are available, the fun naughty parts are invisble, and the model resets its pose when rendered.

I've really gotta get back into blender if I want to figure this out.
Even with the basic lighting I think he looks better than in SFM.

I'll take a look at the model in blender and see what I can find out.

Flexes are under "shape keys," I believe. I only use Blender and not SFM so I can't be sure.

The tail tips are likely due to you having a version of the SFM import addon that's a different version than your Blender client, or vice versa, as I have only had a similar issue when that was the case.

As for pose resetting, click on each bone that resets, then go to the bone settings. In the Translate/Rotate/Scale transforms, are any of the fields yellow? If so, hover over them and hit "i". That will get rid of the key frames on it.

Though honestly some of these problems would be fixed if you went and contacted KabalMystic's main dA, Mystic-Man. He gave me the .blend files for every model in the pack. But as for textures, just grab them from VTFedit, which since you got this far, I'm sure you already have.

Maybe I should make a tutorial about converting these to Blender.

I thought I had to leave after I posted this, but It turns out I didn't have too, so I've been playing around with this and watching more tutorials.

I figured out the flexes just after posting this

Yep, my blender source tools is pretty old. at least 6 months or more. that fixed the tail issue.

Thank you.

Not a bad idea. I'm more playing around with this to kill time than anything else at the moment.
