Ranks are based on lineage, breeding potential, resources and clan loyalty.

Asher - Son to a low ranked female, Asher's ranking was unavoidable due to being related to a high number of clan members.  Though he has the option to leave, this hyena seems content staying close to his mother and family.  Ash is more of an eater then a hunter but earns his supper by keeping watch and working around the village.  His loyalty is strong but he is likely to leave the clan someday.

Rook - A young male that's just trying to fit in.  Rook was born to a family of city dwellers that had settled in the North several generations ago.  He joined the native clan to reconnect with his roots and live a more natural life.  For every good quality Rook has for breeding potential a negative one comes with it.  Many natives find city dwellers unattractive, some may find their differences appealing though.  City life has also affected Rooks hunting and gathering skills making it hard for him to do much else besides work around the village and keeping watch.

Sedge - This small male adopted one of the lowest ranks in the clan due to preference to only pursue the company of other males.  A perfectly acceptable behavior but one that doesn't typically yield long term relationships.  Sedge does what he can around the village but his size and lack of strength limits him.  He is decent at catching small game but is much better at gathering.

Maze - This male recently joined after leaving a rival clan during inner conflicts.  Though Maze ranked well for a male in his last clan it's irrelevant.  Like all new members, he must earn his rank. Maze has all the skills and strength needed to rise in the ranks but his relation to a rival clan makes him hard to trust.
