Once Upon A Time: There lived a duke happy as he could be, having finally replenished his vast wealth after an incident in his old home, Duloc. The duke had a second in command. No one quite knew why the duke wanted an Egg for a second-in-command. "They're so fragile" they all said. But THIS was a special egg. He could move stuff with his mind, control the elements and even cause destruction at the snap of his fingers. The only thing he couldn't do, was read minds. One day, the duke learned that his self-appointed nemesis, Jack Rider was on a quest to rescue a dragon...For some reason he never conveyed, the duke sent his cholesterol-riddled bully after him and his growing band of comrades. He tried to send a silver-handed monarch after them, but it was a touchy subject. He paid a piper to slow them down, but they silenced him. He freed the evil half of a mighty mage from a far-off citadel and sicked him onto a school...But...Said mage's great niece dispatched him and managed to seal him away again. As their quest approached its end, the egg revealed that he used the duke and most of the things he did to them was to prove to himself that Rider was strong, brave and determined enough for him to call him "Leader". He assisted the party in completing their quest and decided to stay with them. As he settled back in Far Far Away, he lived happily ever after...But, the others still keep an eye on him in case of any trickery...which, he admits, is understandable considering the stuff he put them through.
