Bad enough you take my prey
Or your guns scare it away
Now you hunt me all the long day
With your guns drive me away
Safe in shadows where you lurk
You let your rifle do your work
One well-aimed shot- the bodies jerk
As your bullets do their work
Such a cowardly way to kill
You slaughter all just at your will
You track me down, wishing me ill
The deer have died, just as I will
Observing me with heartless eyes
So confident: "That beast there dies."
You look aside, where your gun lies
And you repeat, "That wolf there dies."
You aim for me, and I know not
But then you miss- the warning shot!
I flee for life, the trail hot
Alerted by the warning shot
As you give chase I know I'll die
And as I run, I wonder why
You so despise one such as I
And so I run, not knowing why...
