Aaron's First Heat (title)
Leaky Ace
After a curse that was set on Aphmosa island coated the land in darkness, most plants that needed light quickly died out. But, scattered on the island, you can find lanterns that give off a mystic light that gives life to plants that touch said light, though they will quickly die if the lantern is moved away from them.

May I ask who cursed the island and who built the lanterns?

The curse was set by a being made of charcoal who really hated the natives, and the laterns were made by the natives in a attempt to save Aphmosa.

Now I wonder why this being made of charcoal hated the natives. Apologies, I'm a curious monkey.

They burned down a special tree.

Ah, there you have it. Always the need to burn and destroy what is sacred and special, the reason why we end up being cursed most of the time.

They didn't burn it for no reason, the tree was sapping nutrients from the land and killing the plants around it.

With all the advanced technology, I think it would be easy to build a floating city or island. Living underwater is also a good option, in my opinion. The land is rich and I'm sure there are ways to produce enough energy to sustain a floating city or an underwater civilization. With electricity and whatever is needed to grow food.

Few issues with that: Aphmosa isn't one of the countries that has access to advanced technology. Even if it did have advanced technology in the present, when Aphmosa was cursed it was 257 C.C, long before any real advancements in science.

Has the government considered uniting the countries?
LordAvario

While some countries are allies in one way or another, many aren't. Some places like Aphmosa don't even have a government.

The places without a government, would you consider them savage?
