As we had made note of before, sadly Patreon re-assessing its rules found that raffle prizes count as gambling under US laws and we had to drop that reward for our V.I.P. sponsors.
Since February we've been forced to change our rewards to instead offer bonus art content!

We will be hosting votes on characters and sketches for one-shot pin-up pieces and other mature themed artwork! With our number of high-value supporters on the project, we made this (previewed here) pic of two guys caught in the middle of things on a couch. This coming month we'll have two exclusive images!

V.I.P. sponsors will get to vote on everything from angle, pose, character species and body-types, and plot! We should have that stuff flowing freely this month (last month it took us by surprise so much we had to quickly put something out for sponsors).

So again, if you aren't already supporting us – now is a great time to get bonus content, if you are already supporting us, remember that these new $15+ rewards are only available THAT MONTH, we won't be offering these bonus images to purchase back-dated like the core comic!

Thank you, also, to all our supporters, we're really happy to announce that these last two months have been the most productively funded months on record – some really great, really pretty and really interesting pages coming out soon!

Thank you again, from the whole team!

Another interesting payscale/wall - being that you never gain access to old content.

We're sad we can't run the raffles anymore... In order to keep our VIP sponsors invested, bonus content just for them makes the most sense. It won't be a second series or anything with a running narrative, just extra (mostly mature) bonus content separate from the story for VIPs on top of the sneak previews of plot, sketches and streams they were already getting.

We're not experts, we're still trying out what works best here for the business - our VIPs voted that they wanted their extra investment to go into private content they could decide on, and having content only available on that month is easier to track for us and harder for the people making copies of our back catalogue... You can still get the comic retroactively, but having bonus rewards be one-time only makes the most sense for our model. After all, we have some VIPs who are behind in the comic releases and it'd suck if they voted for a pin-up one month and had to wait to see it finished, especially if they had to lower their support level later, it's a lot to keep track of.

We hope the change will attract more VIPs, and it's what our current VIPs most voted for so we hope to keep them around and give them what they want for their very generous support of the project ^^ It's an extra reason to make the investment and a way to keep payments stable if rewards only come on the month you paid for and voted on the picture - that makes our lives a whole lot easier to plan and hopefully means more comic for everybody to enjoy! ^_^

"We're not experts"

Then why keep trying to act like an enterprise. The amount of hoops your "customers"   have to jump through, and hurdles we have to jump over ensures you lose more money than you would have if you just asked that people don't leak stuff and trust that the good people would still pay for it.

We're a group of freelance artists making a comic IF we get paid for it. Sadly that's the facts, the artists on the project need to get paid for their time and that's only fair - we take money to make a product, just like most artists on here? We're all trying to work out how to do that best, right? Just because you don't agree doesn't mean the fact we're trying to fund the comic is wrong of us on principle, this gallery wouldn't exist if not, it's not like we'd have ever got to 300 pages if no one was paying for them... ^^;

When someone leaked the comic, we lost a significant percentage of all supporters as people thought it wasn't worth paying for something someone else would leak. Sadly "good faith" is in short supply and it seems like IF someone can get away with something without any repercussions they will do it, and every time it's hurt our business. Regardless of the hurdles, our advertisements here and our more exclusive content has meant the comic's audience here AND on patreon grows month after month. Even when people here were really mad at the previews and telling us it was bad form for us to go to Patreon-only content (calling us a lot of really insulting names), we were still getting more supporters than ever...

Sadly, there's a priority there with everything, right? If the VIPs say they'd most stay paying $15+ rather than $10 or $5 if they get extra images for their money it kinda seems only fair to give them that. We listen to people's complaints here too, but we have to weigh that against the people who're paying us to make something and the fact that they might stop paying us - before they got the raffle prizes, now they get the bonus pin-up art - we had to fill that gap.

If people here said "I'd pay you for this, if you also showed it my friend for free" then maybe we'd be more likely to consider it, but overwhelmingly the response is "It's not fair that you don't show it ME for free, someone else already paid for it to be made" - while I can understand that some people don't have the money for the product, we've maybe seen one person who was a paying supporter saying they were upset that free galleries didn't get the art they had paid for... We've seen plenty of people who say they have no intention to ever pay for the comic, who're still upset that they don't get it for free, and I can understand being disappointed... but if someone flatly states they'll never pay for something but want you to do it for them anyway, that voice only has so much weight...

Like I said, we're all trying to do our best.

I can understand that the team here has made a pretty hard stance against art sharing, and that's maybe not a common stance - just know that we weigh things up as carefully as we can. We have to take how content theft affects our business into account just as much as we have to take how posting everything on here (or not) affects our business.
Members of this team have worked on other projects and in the face of a leak or someone trying to sell zips of the comic they have posted it all up for free, and we got a big thank you from the free galleries... but no new paying supporters. When we say we'll stop letting people see content if they aren't paying for it, we get new paying supporters but upset the free gallery audience. I'm sure you can understand that's a really awkward tightrope to walk - but it's made worse to be called "sell outs" when artists who work on this comic DO have pages where they post personal art and take commissions... this is the page for the comic, and the comic has always been funding-essential.

Thank you for explaining your stance to me. I really appreciate it. I hate the way you guys feel you need to do things, but in your situation I don't have any alternative to offer.
