Story: As a baby, Shadow was left aboard the ARK, during the time that GUN soldiers stormed the vicinity in search of 'Project Shadow'. During their mission, one of the agents, named Sophie Miller, came across the screaming hedgehoglet and took pity on him, dropping her gun to the ground. She then picked up the little infant and comforted him, knowing that the young girl looking after him, named Maria, had been killed by her commander. She swears to take revenge on him someday and after reprogramming the pod to send them to Station Square, Sophie destroyed her communicator and stayed hidden for several years with Shadow, raising him as her own. It was during this time that Shadow first met Sonic and the two were pretty curious of one another. As they became older, Sonic and Shadow shared a common interest; their speed. They would often challenge each other to races as children, despite Lilly and Sophie's dismay and ultimately became friends. However, during their teenage years, the hedgehogs started to became hostile towards each other, claiming them to be rivals. This rivalry would continue for many years but when Shadow began to have feelings for Ilexa, he ultimately ended their rivalry by asking Sonic for help on how to win her over. Since then Shadow has become a proud father of a daughter, named Marianne and a son, named Riley, both of which inherited his Chaos abilities in different ways. Personality: Shadow is a quiet, cocky and distanced hedgehog. Although like his regular self, he is one for getting into dangerous situations in order to achieve his goals and loves to tease Sonic in a rivalry type of way from time to time. However, due to him now being a father, he is less distanced from others and more care-free. He is also very overprotective of his children and obviously loves spending as much time with them as he can, when not on GUN missions. Likes: His family, running, using his Chaos abilities and teaching his children how to master their abilities Dislikes: Anyone who upsets/scares his children
