Right then, never been particularly good at writing, but it's time to start logging progress on this thing.
~ Backstory ~
I tend to draw random things, because I'm usually to lazy to get refs for fanart. This has netted me several characters that like, but never really did anything with. So, back in 2016, I decided to start work on attempting to make a world for them to exist in as more than random pinup characters. Unfortunately the universe imploded, and I got very little done that year.
Fast forward to 2017, I had a rough idea for their world. all that was left was finding a way to make it tangible. Several horrific attempts at writing later. I remembered that I always wanted to make a game, but never had anything to make one of.
1+1=2, this took me a fair bit longer to realize than it should have...
Which brings the project to where it is now. 2 years, and 4.5 different gameplay prototypes later.
Should create a detailed list of what is working as intended, but eh. Will worry about that later, for now I'm just going to list a few of the important things.
~ Working ~
Can choose between starting a new game or continuing.
Game saves when you beat a level.
Platforming basics: Move, Jump, Attack.
Different characters have different stats/platforming/attack combos.
~ Needs work~
In game character swapping, the mechanic works, but it's not animated.
All unique character actions.
Character attack hitboxes, the animations play correctly, but they can't actually hit anything.
Stage select, it works, but it's in a very rough state... and I only have the one test level working.
Enemies: one would think at some point I would have thought designing them before now, but nope... also only the creepy flower looking things deal damage currently.
~ NYI ~
Characters 3, and 4.
There is currently no place to spend gems.
Dying, sort of a weird one, but currently losing all of a characters HP/throwing them off a cliff does nothing.
Sound/Music in general.
