Introducing a new species to the world, the Vulparel!  This post will have the official information regarding this species, as well as a couple basic examples of what they look like.  I was toying with making them a closed species, but eh, there's enough of those out there.  I just request that if you do any Vulparel art/writing, that you credit me, and if you'd like link me the work of them that you do.  I'd be very interested in seeing what all people do with Vulparels.
Vulparels - me.

Vulparel Species Information

- Upon cursory glance, the Vulparel (Vulparels plural), resembles a plush-like anthropomorphic fox with a bone-like mask upon its face and arms resembling either a neck tie or a bow with ribbons.  Colors and markings can vary widely.

Biology:
General:  Vulparels range in height between 4ft to 6ft, with an average height around 5ft.  They have a plush-like body that can vary widely in colors and markings.  Vulparels are a sexually dimorphic species with noticeable differences between male and female.  For males, their arms are situated in front of their bodies and resemble neck ties when at rest.  While the colors and markings of the arms can vary, they are almost always darker shades of colors.  For females, the arms are located upon the back of the body and resembles a bow with ribbons when at rest.  Like with the male, the arms can vary in color and markings, but are almost always lighter shades of color.  Another contrast is that while the female has a full, and fluffy tail, the male has a smaller and less pronounced tail.  There is also the biologically typical set of genetalia with males having a penis and females having a vagina.  Interestingly enough, however, these do not play a role in Vulparel reproduction, a topic to be further discussed later.
Mask:  Aside from the arms, perhaps the most prominant feature of the Vulparel is its mask.  Upon their face is a solid bone-like mask which covers the entirety of their head.  The mask lacks a mouth and has a pair of eye holes through which the Vulparel sees through.  The eye holes are curious in that they are not only shaded in a constant blackness so that even when looking directly into them, one can not see the Vulparel's eyes.  In addition they are also capable of changing despite the mask being solid either closing or opening further, or changing shape to reflect the Vulparel's mood.
With no mouth in the mask one wonders how Vulparel verbal communication works, one theory suggests that Vulparel verbal communication is actually done through telepathy, and given the lack of need for translators between differing species, this theory might not be far off.  The lack of a mouth also takes into question of how the Vulparel feed.  The Vulparel are in fact a vampiric species.  By touching a living thing with the tip of its mask's snout, the Vulparel can draw out the life essence and absorb it through the mask itself.  However Vulparel have been observed doing this with fresh fruits and vegetables.  Despite this meathod of feeding, Vulparel culture forbids feeding off of a creature's life essence to the point the creature is in danger of being near death.  This is for good reason as while the energy given off in a creature's final moments is indeed potent, to a Vulparel it is also highly toxic, addictive, and can lead to mutations and madness.
Reproduction:  As mentioned earlier, Vulparels do not reproduce in any traditional sense.  The parts of typical reproductive anatomy that they share with many other organisms has been repurposed to solely a form of bonding and sharing mutual pleasure. In order to reproduce, a group of no less than two Vulparel with at least one male and at least one female perform a sacred ritual.  While exact details of how this ritual works is sketchy, as Vulparel are hesitant at best to divulge details about the ritual, some things are known.  They prepare a body made of fabric and stuffing, placing it upon an altar of some form.  Then a soul of a sentient being, either freshly aquired from its previous life or stored in a temporary vessel for the purpose of the ritual, is implanted into the body, the mask forming and new life sealed within the body in the form of a new Vulparel.  The Vulparel claim that this ritual is only performed with consenting souls, but given that the ritual normally erases the memory of any past life the soul had, it's difficult to get any form of confirmation.

Society:
General:  Vulparel society concsists of family units that work together in larger community units.  Family units typically share a common trade, or otherwise provide some service that benefits the community as a whole.  As new Vulparels typically lack any memory beyond basic motor skills and the ability to communicate, they are often 'raised' and taught by their newfound family in the various aspects of Vulparel culture and society.  Vulparel have no need for clothing, however many wear some form of garments as a form of accessorizing, most commonly they'll have some form of purse, pack, or pouch for carrying simple things in.  Tastes in recreation, such as art, games, and music can vary as widely as their colorations.  As mentioned previously, the act of sex has no connection with Vulparel reproduction.  As a result Vulparel society is extremely open with sex.  In public, private, with the oppisate gender, or the same, even amongst family units or with multiple partners.  The only law regarding sex is that it's consentual with everyone involved in the act.  The act is considered to be casual and yet intimate at the same time, a way to bond with those that are cared for and sharing mutual pleasure with one another.

Laws:  As with other civilized societies, the Vulparel have a set of laws that they abide by, usually.   While additional laws may vary between communities, none are allowed to violate the core laws that all Vulparel share.
1: Do not feed upon a living creature to the point it is in danger of dieing.
2: Do not destroy or damage the property of another.
3: Do not cause injury or kill a fellow Vulparel unless one's own safety is in danger and there is no other resolution.
4: Do not force sex upon another, it must be consentual with those involved.
5: Do not steal from a fellow Vulparel.
6: Respect another Vulparel's lifestyle as long as that life style is harming none.
7: Do not lie when involved in a trial of yourself or another Vulparel.

An Outsider's View:
As an outsider looking in on the Vulparel, it's easy to think of them as monsters, if one doesn't know their culture.  Typically speaking, any creature that feeds by any form of vampirism is going to be viewed through a negative lens, though unlike other vampires a Vulparel isn't really much of a threat as long as one doesn't try to mess with them.  Granted their method of reproduction can be viewed by some as a mockery of the natural cycle, or even as an abhorrent and reviling act.  Though one does suppose that just goes to show how wide and varied the multiverses can be.
