This is from a light novel I've been binge reading lately.
So there's this light novel called Goblin no Oukoku (Goblin Kingdom) that I have fallen in love with. It's amazing! It has action, suspense and characters you actually give a damn about. The gist of the story is that the nameless MC (seriously, he is never named. I just call him king since that's all he's ever called) died somehow and was reborn as a lowly goblin. Not wanting to die again, he uses his ambition, strength and smarts to rise in the ranks and become the Goblin King.
While the premise is similar to the novel/manga Re:monster, Goblin Kingdom is completely different. For one thing, the MC isn't OP like Goburou (MC from Re:monster). King has the strength of a regular goblin. He just trains himself to get more skills and even then, he isn't all powerful. He loses, he despairs, he has actual emotion aside from "I'm a billy badass, worship me, bitches". Goburou is a guy with OP skills who wins against everyone he goes up against and have orgies every night and sometimes well into the day.
In other words, Goburou is boring. There's nothing to look forward to. He goes into battle, obviously he wins, next scene. With King, I constantly wonder how he's going to get past the obstacle before him. When he loses, I'm there with him, sad at the loss of life but determined to see him win against them. He nearly dies a lot since the guy often(always) punches above his weight class (At level 5, he tries to fight a level 20 monster).
Sorry for the rant... Now for an explanation of the picture. See, there's a scene where he and his main chick, Reshia have a talk about their future. Initially, King found her group (A group of 4 adventurers and her) wandering in the forest and took them as prisoners. After a while, he let them (Really only Reshia and her bodyguard, Lili) have free reign in the camp. Reshia and King become close and weirdly trust each other despite how they started out. Even her bodyguard has a soft spot for the goblins, despite her reluctance to accept their kidnapping.
Note: There are probably a million things wrong with this picture. For one thing, I drew this from memory so it might not be accurate. All I remember is that Reshia has purple hair and possibly purple eyes... I think. As for king, I can't remember what color he was since he only comments on his looks when he evolves and I can't even find the chapter this scene is from so I'm stuck with guessing.
