Decided to do more oc-based fanart of Hollow Knight.  This time it's grown into an AU set in the obligatory 'some time' after the events in Hollow Knight.   Naturally the world will always be full of danger and adventures so yeah. Kept to the general art style that's in the game, and will likely keep using it if I ever do something like a comic thing of the AU, though I have seen some really nicely designed bug versions of the Hollow Knight characters that I'm tempted to try should I do more detailed bio pics of the characters.
Anywho, from left to right:
-Yellow Jacket - A vessel that's taken to protecting settlements around Dirtmouth from various monsters that lurk in the wilds of the Great Beyond.  She's the defacto leader of the group.  Her favorite area in Hollownest is Greenpath.
-Squish/Squishy - A human disguised as a bug that is found in the wilds by Yellow Jacket.  He suffers from loss of memory as to how he got there, or why he has a Charm of Many Tongues that allows him to speak to and understand the various bugs.  He's endlessly curious about the world he's in and the people that inhabit it.  Due to memory loss he doesn't recall his real name and only begrudgingly accepts the nickname given to him by the others in the group.
-Milly- An ant treasure hunter.  She loves to explore the depths of Hollownest and beyond in search of treasures, rare artifacts, and of course Geo.  While she certainly loves having money, she isn't greedy, more seeking adventure for adventure's sake and having fun while she's at it.   She joined the group because well hey safety in numbers is always a thing.
-Thorg- A brute of a bug.  He's a long time friend of Yellow Jacket's.  Part training partner, part adoptive brother to her.  While he doesn't hesitate to charge into battle, he's actually quite nice, at least to Yellow Jacket.  He can be a bit too rough on Squish, but it's not out of malice.  In his perspective he's just trying to help toughen the human up so he can hold his own.
