Would somebody who is more rounded on this topic fill me in, what does Catalonia have to gain from becoming an independent country? They don't have a military and they don't seem to have a whole lot when it comes to marketable exports. This is not me taking potshots at Catalonia I genuinely feel like I'm missing something here.

Well I'm Scottish, so, yeah, I feel bad for those guys... :( At least the Catalonian people had the gonads to actually ignore all the propaganda and threats and have some faith in themselves, unlike our own. Really hope they get to make another go at it someday.
