How to draw Amber - Part 4 (2017)
Last in pool
On this part, you'll see how I draw Amber, from how she originally looks like from the movie.

The original movie version makes her look rather simplistic, not necessarily going too into detail, but still making her look like the golden she's supposed to be.

My version is much more furry, with fur sticking out much like how a real golden has. Her neck has more girth to it (if you notice how I draw her body in my previous tutorials, you can tell I make her slightly "chubby". Not to make her look fat, but to mostly show how much fur she has.

Her snout is a bit more round, and if you notice on the movie version's snout, it has a sort of curve to it, that most dogs have. Also, I draw her nose more realistically as well.

Another thing to note, is that doing what I did above (tracing a screenshot, then drawing it a second time in a different way) is something I usually do from time to time. There is nothing wrong with doing this, as you NEED to learn how to draw the original version before you start to draw her in your own style (or however you want to do it).

Man its been awhile since I seen this movie, so I kinda forgot how she looked originally. But wow I like the style you draw her in alot and is something that is fun doing. A trait that does not suit me well is that a lot of times I try to get a character on point exactly as they are, which can lead me to frustration. It would be one helluva experience to try my hand at my own, noticeable style to make my drawings stand out more~ Maybe in my next drawing I will try.  ^^

Don't be afraid to try and trace a screenshot. Of course, don't upload it or whatever, but use it as a way to understand the structure of the character. I remember when I did my first Balto and Jenna pictures. Let's just say, they look pretty terrible, despite me trying my hardest to get them down to a t (especially Jenna).
