Normally I don't draw multiple characters when introducing someone new, but the solo shot of Runia I drew awhile ago had a strange pose. This piece looks better and kind of captures the beginning of Choral's story. Since Choral is a baby though, it's pretty clear which one is Runia. Runia is concerned about Choral wanting to swim off and save her parents who were kidnapped by the Intruders since she literally just hatched from her egg, but Choral's determination resonates with the Queen, causing her to swear she'll protect Choral and help her reach her goal. Though Choral is small and virtually powerless initially, Runia calls upon the help of her father Admiral to give Choral the powers she needs to make it. Ultimately though, it's Choral's own strength that ends up with her eventually surpassing the deity's daughter, but Runia is ultimately glad Ocealand is safer in the end.
1. As stated, I did draw a solo shot of Runia. I will scan it eventually, but the pose is kind of odd. It's of her landing or something. I just wanted her first drawing to be more "grandiose".
2. This is an SFW image that showcases the size of Starmaninjian babies compared to adults. Granted like human babies, it doesn't take long before they start growing to be bigger than the vagina, but they remain about the size of a breast until they reach about a year old, then start notably getting larger.
3. Choral also showcases how intelligent Starmaninjian babies are shortly after birth, as Choral is able to not only realize her parents were kidnapped, but express defiance to Runia's warnings as she attempts to save them. Do note she can't speak at all since she has no idea how to, so she's just glaring and making squeak noises that are mostly meaningless.
4. As for the adventure, Runia does watch over Choral for most of it, but Choral tends to swim off on her own the majority of the time anyway. In her infancy though, she still reacts to things akin to how a curious child would and reacts to traumatic events with tears if she gets scared. This is no Baby Mario in Yoshi's Island though...Choral does most of the fighting, being the primary protagonist. SINCE she did all this literally as a baby, this is why she becomes the youngest Novaninjian in the history of the universe, tied with Sunny (who becomes an Elemental Master).
5. Runia is not her mother, and neither is Chandella. Her mother was sketched and actually looks like Choral but grown up. She was kidnapped because the Intruders assumed they had the power to control the ocean, but they kidnapped the wrong person as Runia was the one they wanted. Choral ultimately ended up inheriting the power they wanted though, but she defeats them before they realize thier mistake.
6. The strange tail with the giant tear drop tip is actually a special tail for Oceaphians who have Nova abilities. Normally the tail is triple pronged or double pronged with fins in between. Seaphians and Oxyphians don't generally have the tear drop tail because they spend more time on land.
7. Runia has what appears to be tendrils on her head. They are meant to be like dreadlocks as she has a thick bahamian accent.
