The old Apple computers played on this confusion: A "mousetrap" was a storage slot for the "mouse" when not in use. Just like Appleseeds was a long defunct Apple application magazine - I think. Also Apple Cider was another.
The Apple was offcially declared defunct c.1996, but the venal company still uses the name.
