Maybe they're heading to the Little Theater Off Times Square. (FIRST NIGHTER ,an old radio program where sound-effects simulate a walk down Broadway and then the narrator enters a theater. We hear ushers giving rules * and then the narrator, shown to his usual box, opens and reads the play folder to announce the play about to be performed (usually a romantic comedy). Commercial breaks are disguised as intermissions bet acts.
* This was in the 40's & 50's. Nowadays the usher would also direct theater patrons to turn off cell phones and NOT take pictures or video record the play).
