Did you know that Sega originally had planned a game featuring a rabbit? He was to have extendable ears that could reach out and pick stuff up, acting as a second pair of arms. Sounds interesting, right?

Partway through, though, Sega realized that in order to defeat an evil genius, the protagonist had to have a more practical skill. Maybe like...running and rolling at super fast speeds? You guessed it, this rabbit, unofficially named "Feel," was an early prototype version of Sonic the Hedgehog.

But what if Sega stuck with the original idea of a rabbit with pseudo-arms for ears? This would be a likely lead cast for a possible Feel the Rabbit game.

In the center is Feel, obviously. Beside him is Touch, his girlfriend and best friend. She has extendable ears just like Feel's. Touch and Feel have a mad obsession with one another, a two-way love life unlike with Sonic and Amy Rose.

To Touch's left is Smarty, a two-tailed tabby. He is right on par with Tails (alias Miles Prower) as far as smarts and the ability to fly are concerned. Unlike Tails, however, Smarty has never been ridiculed for having an extra tail. In fact, he is respected for this and his intelligence, and is Feel's second-best friend.

On Feel's right is Punchkin, a Bull Terrier. A retired championship boxer, Punchkin is rather quick to respond to negative behavior, although he has a tendency to put action ahead of thought. Fortunately, the hits he blows are not as painful as the kind Knuckles the Echidna deals. Punchkin is still pretty strong, though, and when he gets in a bad mood, you should have the pillow suit ready.
