Yeah, just heard about that. Makes absolutely no fucking sense. But apparently the writers of this game are the ones that really dig meaningless mindcontrol subplots, so I am hoping that's why Shadow is suddenly the villain again. And that new villain looks a lot like Mephiles in my oppinion. So if this is, in any way, a tie in to Mephiles' prediction in Sonic '06 that Shadow will be betrayed for his powers or whatever, that is also an acceptable reason to have him as a villain. All other reasons will be shit reasons and so will not be accepted. But apparently Silver's in it too, so my hopes for Mephiles to play a part are high aswell.

True but Solaris' flame was blown out, causing the events of Sonic 06 to never exist, only having Sonic, Shadow, and Silver to remain having those memories, hence why Sonic remembers crisis city and Silver is still here. If the new villain were to be Mephiles, it would very unlikely as he was a part of Solaris and he is now dead.
