Finally finished this one. A while ago I started doodling a design for a character in my head. You know one of those times when you have a vague idea of what you imagine someone or something to look like but don't have a solid definition of the shape and style... so it was a bit of a gamble but yay I managed to get her looking pretty nice. I literally fiddled with the colours of the clothes back and forth for an entire day, with well over 30 or 40 layers for just the different pieces of the clothes themselves, different variations I was saving, and clipping layers modifying them. Even simplifying the image down and merging the layers was not an easy task as it was such a clusterfuck haha
but still I had fun with it and enjoyed making the background. This is set on my fantasy world, Kyrinos, and as the picture's name suggests, her name is Yukina. Her story was, like many of the characters in Kyrinos, just an idle daydream that became too cool not to run with.
The way I imagine it, she was a lone travelling archer, pretty powerful but no where near perfect and never considering herself good enough, pushing away concepts liek friendship to be an edgy lone wolf as she fights for "justice", but one day she gets killed fighting this guardian thing in a dungeon (which I may change to be cooler) and she's basically floating away as a soul in a void and an angel (not the pretty man kind with feathery wings, angels are a thing in this world), and he says something about her needing to "try again", she wakes up in a room in an inn, with unfamiliar clothes, an unfamiliar face and hair, looking much younger than before and while similar, a different person, and also a Beastkin (hence the ears and tail) She recovers her legendary bow Starlight but it turns into a bracelet on her wrist, and until she proves herself she can only very briefly summon it, so she uses it for a nice finisher lol but instead she becomes mainly a mage. in an effort to get her bow back she partners with a party of young adventurers and ends up becoming friends with them. after her reincarnation into the form we see here in the picture, she becomes much more modest, much more friendly, and takes a step back from trying to hodl the world's burdens on her shoulders and learns that sometimes you just need friends to stand with you. She even begins personifying Starlight and understands she has to appreciate the bow that was like her partner the whole time but she took for granted, and acts thankful every time Starlight "lets" her use it.
But yeh she ends up getting a bunch of nice friends and has a grand adventure. Despite travelling the world before, she never felt like she got to really experience it, and now she gets that chance.
