You totally forgot the best Amy of them all:
" "They don't call me 'Aim-y' for nothin'!"
[snipes a Badnik with an arrow from 500 yards]
Oh, Sonic the Comic Amy... you're so silly.

I like them all though if I had to pick I'd probably go for Sonic CD design.

Lovely! I suppose a variation of each other character is in order?

She's still my favorite character. I know a lot of people find her annoying, but I've always found her endearing. Something about her tenacity and demeanor just struck my fancy, ever since Sonic CD. My favorite Amy? This might be obscure, but Dark Brotherhood Amy. I loved that game (even though most others didn't).

I know. I too like Amy and consider her my favorite character along Dr. Eggman.

Amy's immaturity and tendencies to act out of impulse really does not bother me because it's something that is balanced out by her being a character whose heart is in the right place as well as having a well balanced sense of morality and a compassion that she extends even to bad guys (not to mention that she has her priorities well established, as she will always put the greater good and the happiness of others above her own). I find her interesting too because unlike many characters who have extraordinary abilities, come from unreachable places or have lots of backstory, Amy is simply a (relatively) ordinary girl who justs wants everyone to be happy, and whose main reason to get involved is not for glory or a claim to be a protector of the world, but simply because she believes that it is the right thing to do and often not her actions will be driven by her empathy for others.

I find Amy to be one of the most grounded characters who shares a lot in common with the average person, and thus shows that you don't need extraordinary powers to have the courage to do heroic deeds for the sake of others (like when she orotected the little bird in Sonic Adventure). At the same time, she also has flaws too like most people (just like how a rose has cute petals, it also has thorns, lol), but like I said, ultimately Amy is a well meaning character with a sweet side which I feel outweighs he feisty traits.

Another thing is that Amy offers a pretty interesting contrast with Sonic: where Sonic believes in HIMSELF because of his gifted ability to run super fast that allows him to fight evil, Amy instead is a character who believes in YOU. This is something shown in games where she help other characters to become brave, like in Heroes where she not just leads, but also encourages Cream and Big. It helps alot that Amy can relate to these "lesser" characters because in Sonic CD she too once was a victim and thus understands them better.

(Though I'm not really to fond of Chronicles since Amy trying to make up an imaginary boyfriend to make Sonic jealous is something I belive to be beneath her. Amy may do silly and embarrassing things, but being dishonest is definitively not one of them and definitively one of the things the people of Bioware did not get right of how Sonic Team portrays her character)

That all pretty much nails it on the head there. People have a hard time seeing through the "fan girl" side of her. But like you said, she's more of an average Jane kinda character...like most average folk, she can get a little obsessive about the things she's adamant about. In that way, she's more like a nerd than even Tails (and by "nerd" I mean "someone who feels passionate about something in a very adamant way"). Get past the "SQWEEEEEE! It's Sonic!" part of her and she's one of the most affable characters in the series.

And as far as the Chronicles thing goes; I always looked at the "fake boyfriend" thing as a way of fooling more herself than Sonic. I got the vibes that, in that canon anyway, she had given up on chasing Sonic or, at least, was trying to. The way she was portrayed made it seem that she was trying to move on without worrying Sonic. She still cared for him, but couldn't continue the chase. But, being who she was, it would have worried Sonic if she just outright gave up the chase without a good reason...and what better reason to stop than a "new boyfriend". It was kind of a sad take on the character, but made her seem a little more grounded in a way to me.

Yup. It's funny how this version of Amy was originally brown instead of pink, as well how her name was writter in katakana as "Eimi" instead of the current "Emii", which is also why she has a letter E on her shirt. XD

Hehe!  What I find funny is how people will likely never know that "Sonic" and "Amy" have dated.

Looking at these four makes think of them as an age progression.
