Closeup of the tree's base, showing my out-at-Christmas-only set of ceramic light-up buildings from Studio 56, as well as a Midcentury Modern coffee table Christmas decoration that spent many a season on the coffee table in my parents' den. The Boomerang table is authentic MM as well.
If you look up on the tree, about 11:00 relative to the centerpiece on the table and to the left of the red bow, you will see one of the fourteen handmade, silken ornaments made by my great-aunt, a French World War II war-bride, decades ago.

Nice. Especially nice village. Is that a working fireplace behind the tree?

No. Four-foot mantle-- complete with faux brick backing-- is a prop. I wanted one, so I built one.

You should stick an artificial fireplace in there. I can suggest a really nice one.

Wow, you got a fancy setup. I can't even be bothered to put up a tree/lights myself XD

I am notorious for being a Christmas/lights/decorating person.

Where do you think I'm going to store all this Christmas décor shit?

I figured you could just juggle it around when you're not using it.

This is actually the very first standing-on-the-floor Christmas tree I've ever owned. Seventeen years of owning big dogs, and then about ten years of nomadic living before that, prevented such an indulgence.
