We have a lot of work to do; as friends, as a community, as a fandom, and as examples to the world. I am proud and grateful for what our communities can do, and thankful for how organized and focused all of us have been.
This is the next chapter. This is the dark before the dawn. This is the harshest test. And it is a frustrating, powerful, overwhelming one at that.
But metaphors, movie lines, songs and book quotes all aside - come what may I will be there by your side to stand with, pick up, help carry, work and fight towards what is right for all of our friends and the world.

Sorry, I assumed I had the same rights as others when voicing my opinion about the future. I have an immigrant friend that is a massive Trump supporter (he has pretty extreme opinions frankly), do they have a right to say everything will be fine? I guess I'll have to remember to check my privilege more often. Anyway, I don't think anyone has the right to riot, burn down businesses and cars and injure police, those are the people that need to chill, that is totally unacceptable, peacefully protest all you want though.
