Chunky was a crossbreed between a Bull mastiff and a Boxer.
we had to have him put down today because he was in a lot of pain and he wasn't getting any better. My heart is quite literally Broken right now, I can barely breath. RIP my cuddly Teddy bear. Your no longer in pain. We will miss you everyday.

I swear it was an agonizing decision. He was panting all the time like every breath he took was agony for him. He was riddled with arthritis. He was getting confused all the time and never wanted to be left alone these past few weeks. He went off his food and all the things he loved to do. The medication he was on didn't seem to be working. I watched the vet give him the injection and it took five seconds and he was gone. I swear I couldn't breath. I couldn't think. A lot of people would think he's just a dog, but he wasn't just a dog, he was part of the family. He protected the house and us. I felt safe when I was on my own in the house with him, knowing he was guarding me. He was there to greet us at the door when we got home from work wagging his tail. He was my gentle teddy bear and I'm going to miss him so much. But in the end he was a good boy for the vet and didn't make a fuss. We know what we have done today was extremely hard but it was the most kindest thing we could do for him, as we didn't want to see him suffer anymore. He lived to a good age ( sixteen ) and he had a good life. We spoilt him. RIP My Mate. We miss you already! xxxx
