The text at the bottom reads: I closed myself inside a box to protect myself from the outside world... I only succeeded... In creating my own prison...

I need to get a new scanner, since (as you can see) it leaves a dark smudge or whatever at the top of the drawing for about two inches or so on the paper. I've already cleaned the lid, the "window", and everything. I don't know what else to do...
