There is many times in which you will want your little one to try something new. A new game, a new toy, a new outfit, and also, meet new people. Except the last one, they'll be usually easy to deal with. Stay with him, hold his paw as much as possible, and show him everything will be ok. Meeting new people is a totally different matter : new people are scary. They can hurt you, they can replace you, then can be mean and all that. So it's a common first reaction when a baby is told another baby is coming that your pup feels he will suffer for it.

It's a really difficult process. You have to explain who is the newcomer, what should happens and be there. Don't let the new shiny toy (cub) take over all your attention. Share and be sure to include everyone. All too often, the quiet ones are forgotten in a corner and nobody realize they are in pain, but can't tell it because they feel it's their fault they are suffering. After all, society values more the determined open people to those who are shy. It's usually hard to not be more interested in the new one and want to share more time with him that with a little one you have spend hours and days with, but if you truly care, you should try to not forget you have someone counting on you to offer an helping paw and some hugs.
