Two more old photos. There was going to be a story here that I wrote about 1000 words on before stopping. Asima was going to be hunting child (cub) pimps and drug pushers and killing them if she had to. There was another character, a food truck vendor I was going to use as the narrator who sees this from the outside. Maybe I'll still write it one day.

Life is tough on the street. You never know where you will stay the night, or even if you will have enough to eat that day. Asima didn't know what had led her to walk down that street on that day, but she could not miss the larger figure dragging the smaller down a dark alleyway. God knows you had to do what you had to do in order to eat, but this did not look like a willing transaction.
Fingers dug deep into the back of her jeans, but the muted click of the switch blade was muffled easily by the sounds of the struggle coming from down the alley. A light cast enough of a glow that Asima could see the shadows of the pair being cast on the nearby wall.
"I told you, you're working for me, now. And I expect my money!" The males' voice was gruff and tinged with anger. When no answer beyond whimpers was forthcoming, he raised the smaller figure and began to shake it. "Do I need to beat some sense into you?!"
Asima knew then that this time, she could not keep walking down the street. This time, she might wind up with blood on her paws.

This image came about as a result of my thinking of just what sort of society my little national geographic pinup fennec lived in. I went down the rabbit hole of thinking about cultural practices, and what sort of furry group might practice female circumcision. I didn't want to do a picture based off that, so I decided to think about what would happen to a girl that this had occurred do. Asima is the result. Bitter, jaded and living on the streets, she looks after herself. But here, she learns that she might need to look after others on occasion as well.

Asima and an as yet unnamed puppy girl (Mary?) huddled up against the cold and the snow. I do like how everything came together in this piece. They seem so happy together as much as the day itself leaves little to be happy about.
