First, a note about the employment opportunities coming soon:
I am going to be taking Matri very seriously, it is my baby. I am going to be as ruthlessly professional as I can be for taking this project from my head to reality. This means that although being my friend will help your odds, you will not be favored above someone more qualified and experienced. There are exceptions of course, as professional work ethic is the bottom line. Especially anyone who joins on during preproduction, don’t get comfortable, depending on how well you perform, you could be fired as soon as I begin casting for production. Although I would prefer to work within the fandoms I am a part of, I NEED experienced professionals who have successfully worked in the industry. It probably won’t be quite as strict (or expensive) as actual television production, but I am expecting a similar quality and commitment to detail. This is a very tricky project and ambitious in many ways. Striking the right balance of artistic collaboration, professional networking and production deadlines will be difficult, so I look forward to delegating all of these responsibilities to a strong core team.
But for preproduction, I need advisors, editors and proofreaders to help me layout my pitch information and figure out business details. I’m doing as much of this as I can, trying to develop my pitch bible and collect information that will make production run more smoothly, but the business end of things is still more confusing. I know some of what goes into running a successful business, but I don’t have the technical skills and know how involved in hiring employees, or how to budget for a job like this. I’ll have to pay a significant portion of costs out of pocket until I get the kickstarter ready(I want to have at least a teaser and possibly a full pilot episode by the time I launch the kickstarter) and I have no idea just how much I’m going to need to save.
Of course, I don’t even have a job right now and I have all of my other art projects I’m working on, so just getting this project onto its feet is an immense undertaking for one artist.
