Our next quarterly hosting fees are due! If anyone could spare a few dollars and donate to help us out, that would be much appreciated. If you could spread the word in your own journals that would help us a lot too!
With the server upgrade about a month ago, our ongoing operating costs are now quite a bit higher than they used to be. The upgrade also hit us with hardware installation fees as a one-off cost which we were able to cover easily thanks to past donations, but it drained the bank account further.
We now have about €900 ($1170USD) per quarter to pay.
These costs include our main server and secondary server hardware rent, rack space for the two servers, 100Mbit pipe to the net, externally hosted email+wiki and source code hosting just to name the major ongoing costs!
Considering how big and busy our site is, the high spec hardware and the unmetered data connection we get, the costs are actually amazingly low. But we still have to find that cash every 3 months!

Well why not have like a link to ads for furries so artist and furry sites can have a page dedicated for banners with descriptions next to them. So youd have 2 random ads at the bottom of the screen and then a tab maybe between notices and pms for it. Maybe like $20 a month at a rough guide So the adds would be between the comment box and the links at the bottom

We do not permit humans in sexual situations here primarily because they are problematic from a legal/moderation perspective. This would not change because we had more money, and we are not looking to introduce premium features; rather, we'd prefer that people donate so that everyone can enjoy the features that we have.
