Impressions So Far

Honestly, this is a great, polished site. It's easy to use, it's pretty, it has a ton of features that are missing from other sites.

But the honeymoon's over, and I don't believe I have a place here. Not enough emphasis put on artist discovery, too much emphasis put on popular stuff (see the front page layout). And I'm hard-pressed to find something on the front page (the top two-thirds especially) that ISN'T porn. I don't see the point in uploading new art.

Great attempt, and I say that sincerely. I know everyone's not out to please only people like myself, and this will be a great site for others. Hope it has a good run.

The proportion of mature/adult works is actually going down . . . however, it's true that such works are more likely to be popular, and so appear more regularly on the front page.

Visitors to the site don't have porn offered on the front page, but can still buy the stuff they can see.

You might want to consider ArtSpots, which doesn't allow porn. Perhaps they'll pick up a few of Inkbunny's features over time as well. :-)

ArtSpots sounds intriguing. And off I go to join yet another art site, hooray.

\I honestly have more beef with the ratio of popular art to new/random art on the front page than I do with the porn.

Here's the thing - the site is intended to sell people's work. We want to impress visitors with a significantly higher quality of artwork than the average furry gallery. To do that, we stock the front page with the best that we have to offer, as judged by our users' actions.

This isn't egalitarian. It isn't how most other furry sites do it, either - though ArtSpots not only does a similar thing for its front page, it does it for its "recent" art (only the work of those who have passed a review for Companion status will be displayed there, except for logged-in users who have turned off that feature).

It is true that popular artists will fare better here. But they also tend to become popular by providing what people want. That's what we're trying to promote.

just stalked you on deviantart, cause i liked your 3d works (and a 2d/3d mix wallpaper on your furaff)
i'm pretty sure you got some serious skills in design and illustration/composition. varying styles is a good thing !
