I'm finally able to switch back to using Gentoo Linux as my one and only Online Game - Guildwars - now works under Wine plus the GW Wiki includes a page for setting it up. That's been the last thing keeping Windows open on my computer and now they're finally closed.
On the hardware front, I've always paid attention to what I buy since Open Source support has always been important to me. Because of this all of my hardware works well under linux and as in Windows, it's just a matter of finding the software you need, which in my case is pretty much the same stuff as I'd been using under Windows anyhow. Ye---p I tend to use many open source programs simply becasue the cost of the Professional Crap is so high and I don't have a money tree in the backyard - a golden egg laying goose maybe but no blasted money tree.
