Art by accumulation?

If one could call themselves an artist by the sheer amount if art related stuff they accumulate, then I might just be an artist. When faced with the prospect of tidying my humble abode I am faced with the daunting task of figuring out just where to put everything. A simple search for my Wacom bamboo the other day led me to understand just how much art related stuff I have floating around.

First the bamboo. I purchased it because I was into a hobby of mine, geocaching, and a side project of that became path tags, little metal tags that have art on them, traded among people. (side note, if I ever develop characters in the fandom I shall be making tags for them.)

Then there is the passel of random art supplies related to this. Colored pencils and sketch pads, some pastels, and more junk to sketch designs and get the colors sorted in some manner.

More art stuff includes the water colour paint set and three sets of water colour  paper I have sitting in the house. A Christmas gift to be sure but still something I admired. Related to this is the easel/art set from Costco I have. Actually my moms, I have it because it was sittin unused at my parents place when we moved them out.

Then there is all the jewelry making supplies I have. Metal, stones, beads, tools, two different torches, rolling mill, etc. and on top of that is the enameling bits I have including my trinket kiln and the like. I really need to do more or this again, simply to work on my skills again.

This is not to mention my reference books for some 3d modeling I once did. I wound up modeling a small boat as part of the user content initiative for pirates of the burning sea, and I have a number of books on naval rigging and architecture to prove it.

If the sheer amount of stuff I have purchased in the name of art could make me an artist, I would be one I suppose.
