So after discovering the original texts for my now out-of-print books, I was at a loss as to how I could distribute them. Putting them back into print would be expensive, and anyway, no one bought the damn things. I could theoretically sell via the Kindle Store, but not everyone has a Kindle, and anyway, what little money I made would mostly go to Amazon for hosting and processing fees.
So I decided to just release it for free, in what I call my "Honor Code Edition." That's right, free. You don't have to pay - though, of course, I would LIKE you to pay, and you can do so by sending money via PayPal to rolandb[at]gmail.com
Think of it like Public Radio - you can enjoy the stuff for free, and the vast majority of people will do just that. But if you can pay, you'll be supporting something you love and that everyone gets to enjoy. Hell, if this works, you might even encourage other artists to release their work in a similar fashion.
How much should you send? Whatever you find my work to be worth. I'm including all three books here, which combined represent thousands of hours of work spread out over eight years, in addition to excellent and beautiful illustrations by my best friends. I've even put them in PDF format so that you can read it on any eReader, computer, or portable device you own.
