It's good to see this addressed. The whole fact people ignore tagging seems to be a combination of laziness and "it never really mattered on FA so why should I start here?" mentality.

That's what the "N/A" checkboxes are for. If no gender is appropriate, for example, you don't have to put one in. They're all combined at the end.

I'm glad the option remains for people to contact moderators to bulk set submissions public. It's a necessary feature, but not really necessary for it to be easily accessible since you're only generally going to use it once in a blue moon.

Awesome I was talking about this not to long ago. the idea of forcing at least one keyword to help with the filtering and searching and now you guys are doing it this is sweet.

Great news! Bravo!
With this improvement, there only will be one bothering thing left: the fact that users put scat, watersports, and so on… public. I cannot recommend this website to famous G or PG-13 artists because of this.

Well, 'public' here means 'not hidden', not 'for G audiences' :3 You can have things here hidden from everybody but you (and the admins) while you prepare them before you release them for some reason. I set several tags in my filter and fortunately I've not seen any of the stuff I don't want to see in months! so I guess the thing is working well ^^ Actually it'd be awesome if G artists joined, because variety is good! And most of us are here for the good art, not just for fap material ^^

What I meant is that, here on Inkbunny (with all those artists doing cub art), the 18+ registration minimum age means that cub art artists feel themselves free to upload works of diapers (eww...) + watersports (yuk...) + scat (yuk...)... as "standard" art, compared to FA.

And this "standard" art is really, really, really far from appealing for artists who want a website not full of things bad for their reputation. Inkbunny is neither Wikipedia nor Wikifur, therefore I believe such submissions (of "non-standard kinks", whether they are adult or not) should be filtered for unregistered members.

I would glady have given my employeer a link to my Inkbunny gallery on my résumé (as IB is specialized in anthromoporphic art, so are my works), but I will never do it because of all the unacceptables things I see on the front page on a daily basis.

Oooh, I see your point now, yeah. Well, dunno if the admins there considered that. Maybe in the future it will be like FA, where guests can't see any of the adult art.

But would you seriously give out your FA's gallery to an employer? I think that any 'furry-exclusive' (or mostly) gallery would have the same problem. You'll go lots safer with a deviantart account or a portfolio under your own domain!

We already filter sexual work of Mature or higher, and violent work of Adult or higher. Diti's point is that the art is not "adult" (or even "mature") by the current definitions, but is still something that he doesn't want people he would direct to this site seeing.

You could try convincing people to use the mature sexual rating for such art, but I see it as unlikely, as they are quite right to argue that it is not sexual (just as you might argue that a clothes-less fur is not "naked" and so not mature).

A better solution might be an "other" rating axis, so people can rate work as mature without classifying it as sexual or violent. Side7 also has separate rankings for language, drugs/alcolhol and nudity vs. sex.

There's still the issue that one person's fetish art is another's character portrait. In the end, the community is the issue, and a separate portfolio might be more appropriate.

Mmmkay! I thought if you didn't click the 'block guests from seeing this', guests could see it regarding of the level! But yeah, that's my point too, I wouldn't link an employer to any of my profiles in a furr gallery, even if I was totally clean. I'd get my own gallery. It's the only 'professional solution'. Sites like this one are made by and meant for fans of the genre.

I agree with you. I enjoy a site that is dedicated to furry artists and furry themed art (that allows nonsexual humans too!). I also don't want to belittle anyone with these fetishes and kinks, everyone's free to like what they like. I'm cool with that, really. I just choose not to view it. But I think it poses as a minor issue too.

IB holds only a fraction of the furry fandom's artists because it's still so young and furry artists are spread wide. But the majority of artists here uphold these fetishes, they were some of the first to hop onto IB because it allows so much, and now there's a disproportionally large amount of furries into the extemer fetishes that rule the site at the moment. They are basically the poster for the main content on IB, and that's a shame.

Again, it's not that I'm against it. But there's no balance. They represent an actually small number of furries with these fetishes but they outnumber those with other or no fetishes.

Does this make any sense? <_< I guess what I'm getting at is that I'd like to see a much more neutral variety of furries and their fetishes/kinks than the main stream of cub/scat/watersport/diapers (although I haven't seen much scat and watersports). I don't want guests blocked from mature and adult content - after all, it's disabled by default but can be enabled with a warning that it's adult content.

We all have some sort of love for furry themed art or may even call us furries, but I don't want to end up being considered a cub artist because there is so much cub art here - I draw full, mature and chubby females, not cubs. I can't get around stereotypes of furries in general, but I'd much rather have that than be put into the same cubicle with artists with fetishes and kinks I'm not into whatsoever.

Exactly. It would be nice if everything adult was automatically filtered for non-members. Community tagging could help, especially in regards to "tame" diaper pics and stuff, which should not be public, but hidden as mature. I really hope IB grows quickly, because there is way too much cub art clogging up the front page - even after I've set about every keyword I can think of to block it! The cub art exodus from FA is hurting IB right now, in that regards.

Now, to tackle my other beef: NOT SETTING SUBMISSION TITLES! You HAVE noticed SO MANY "New Submission" submissions, yes? If no real title is created, or just left BLANK (or use of spaces/punctuation ONLY), the submission should bounce with a prompt for a proper title.

Thank you very much! It becomes bothersome when you block certain tags, but images with such themes still appear to you because the artist didn't tag it. It defeated the purpose of the system a bit. I'm glad that everyone is forced to apply one keyword at least. :3

It doesn't fix the problem entirely (i.e. negligent tagging/avoiding certain keywords), but it's a major step into the right direction. Community tagging would be awesome. <3

Any chance the "junk" keywords from the FA import script (such as "Unspecific/Any" or "General Furry Art - Tame") can be removed entirely? Or would that be too difficult?

Thank you! This is and will be a great feature that will only encourage more (by volume) rational (by sanity) furs to migrate! I hate to even say this, because I have watched for so long, but FA is on a downward spiral, and I'm just not going to get dragged down with it. I am so excited about discovering IB, and finding all the artists and art that have made my day for years. I think that requiring tags is a great step, and I support it whole-heartedly! 1-UP for you!
