2,000+ new members in 24hrs, Site Speed, Rules

Hi everyone,

A special welcome goes to our thousands of new members! We weren't expecting such a big response so soon.

We got 2,000+ new members in about 24 hours so things have been running a bit slow around here. We're having to adjust our server settings and fix performance issues fast to try and keep up with the increase in demand.

This means we may experience fluctuations in site speed for the next week or so as we figure out how to deal with various problems that come up as a result of the load. A change we made in just the last few minutes seems to have improved things a lot.

Our small moderator team is also doing their best to keep up with the sudden rush of Support Tickets. We think we're keeping on top of it, but we apologise if we are slow in replying sometimes. Please, if you can, ask for basic help on how to use features from other experienced site users. And if you see someone confused or needing assistance, please offer them advice. This is the best way to help us right now.

We have got lots of great feedback about bugs and site feature suggestions. Please let us know if anything doesn't seem to be working right. Inkbunny is far from perfect and we know there's lots of room for improvement!

The site rules (especially to do with content) will also be explained better and reworded over the next few weeks. But we don't expect the essential meaning of it to change, but we know the wording isn't clear on some critical points and the feedback is helping us work out how to fix it.

I really am laughing hard about all the misinformation and ridiculousness going on at FA about Inkbunny. It's like free publicity! And after people actually try the site and get their own opinions about everything, they'll see the egg all over those naysayers faces. =3

I am really enjoying the site so far. And I'm happy with how pleasant the mods are here, any questions I've had have been answered fast and concisely.

I'm still running into issues of people not properly tagging their work, and I just came across a member that didn't tag anything of his, and it's a bit harder for me to politely ask him to tag his work considering we speak different languages.

The keyword block feature is excellent and I highly approve of it and how it functions, now if we could only get people to tag their work accordingly. x-x;;

It's a real shame about the hate propaganda and slander being spread overnight to the new members via PM. Some people have been kept away by their prejudices, which is full of suck and fail. It's not like what is posted here isn't the same stuff posted on FA. And yet the vast majority of people with their noses turned up happily chill out on the site with a damn sight more of offensive material. =/

Personally, as long as things are tagged properly so I can effectively block what I don't want to see, then it's all gravy. I don't care what anyone else draws, posts, or gets their jollys off too, as long as I can block it with the right tags. xP

All in all Starling, I think you're doing an amazing job so far and I can't wait to see how this site will develop. I'm excited for it. Let's hope it all goes well. :3

(Also I should've realized a flood of trouble tickets was why my issue didn't get addressed quickly. Take yer time; I'm in no rush.)

I think it's mostly placeholders until they decide to start posting.

But yes, I hope this place does well since I need to make a few bucks from my stuff to free up my time. XD

Congrats on the rapid signups!  This site definitely has a lot of potential.

One thing I've observed is a bit of sluggishness when browsing.  It's not bad, but it seems clear that the server(s) are definitely feeling the load.  I hope the site can keep up if it really takes off.

So far I'm totally digging this site. <3

I noticed the slight slowness, but it's still tolerable and understandable. I spam uploaded a ton of images already and it really didn't take very long at all.

I totally need to relax and stop fussing with the drama over on FA.  At least the site is running better now. ^_^;

I know.  It's seriously stressing me out.  About as much as the cub porn arguments surrounding FA's revised AUP.

I really hate drama, and I need to learn to keep out of it, but sometimes I can't resist.  Help. ;_;

Not to get into a debate, but these anti-cub people are spending time & energy getting pissy about FICTION!! o_o; If they really cared they would help real kids rather than just get all internet-crusader on people who happen to enjoy cubstuff. o.o; /minirant

But that's just it. They don't care about real kids. All they care about is having an enemy they can feel morally superior to, someone to point at and laugh, and poke with sticks. It's elementary school playground mentality, and if I had to sum it up in one word, it'd be "annoying".

At least on InkBunny we Have the Weapons to deal with the Trolls XDDD
we can trow at their face that our work is Taged and they just need to write the keyword on the Blocker
and if it didn't work we can just delete the Comment, and the Troll will had lost his time in Vain XDD

I really like the looks of the site and how the interface works so far.  :)  Also I'm glad you added a Nuke All Submissions button!  I'd like to see you make "view all notices of all types" the default though, or at least add a control panel setting to make it the default.  Also, a "global select all" and "global delete checked" like FA would still be good in case there are multiple pages worth of notifications and/or you want to keep a couple around by unchecking them.

I really like this site, technically, it seems to be very smooth, i personally haven't found any bugs or issues that have been apparent to me. I'm really looking forward to the API and extension of some of the really great features that you guys have come up with (multiple files per submission, the really cool story reading interface, etc)

Well personally I really like the loooks of this site it's so... pretty, I hope to give feedback to help, the design is very well doen so congrats on that, I hopefully we can all help this site grow and exspand!

The issue with artists not properly tagging their work.   I feel we need some sort of viewer-contributed tagging system.
Not sure what the exact answer is though.

well one thing i'm wondering about is the now humans part, i mostly get it, but where do werewolfs (and types like them) come into the mix?

Yeah I agree. I'm very much loving the site at the moment. There are a lot of features on this site that I have been begging FA to add for years now.

I would like to see something along the lines of forcing each person to add at least one tag to the submissions before it's allowed to be posted. The tagging feature seems to be the main selling point of the site so far. I don't understand how anyone would be mad about tagging a picture, so why not make it mandatory. It'll save a lot of headaches in the future.

I've been submitting pictures here and there to avoid massive uploading all at once. And yes, it does take a tad long to submit compared to other sites but I think the extra effort helps aid in the usefulness and convenience of the site.

Congratulations^^

Awesome site^^ So glad I was recommended it. The layout is so easy to navigate and incredible wonderful to look at. For someone like me that hates to jump head first into to something new, this is so a plus.
