What Is It With 360 Fanboys?

by
The bad kind I mean. And well anyone who is a fanboy of anything. Again the bad kind. In which they just refuse to accept any logic, sense and truth, like really.

Mostly I wanna note the bad 360 fanboys. In which it is like, state anything that is true about the PS3 and 360 and they get all up in arms. The biggest example being that PS3 has more exclusives than 360 and 360 just keeps losing it's exclusives. This is true, it is proven fact if you look at the games and how 360 only has Halo and Gears left, Dead Rising 2 went to PC and PS3, same with Mass Effect series, Fable is also on PC and even Alan Wake going to PC. Sure you have those who don't count PC but eh...

Anyway yeah it's like, say that to a 360 fanboy and they get pissed off and then say things that don't make sense or not true at all. I dunno if they truly believe what they say or just say that out of not wanting to deny what they like or something... I dunno.

Nothing against the 360, I just don't like what it has come to represent, the kind of "gamers" it has spawned. Oh sure you have bad PS3 fanboys as well that say stupid things that are not true, but that doesn't seem too common at all. Just eh... 360 has made bad gamers. Not saying all 360 fanboys are like that and accept facts and truth, but it's like try to say something that is truthful and it's like they cover their ears and go "blah blah blah can't hear you" in a matter of speaking.

I could dive more into that and all but eh... I dunno just wanted to get that out with how I talked to someone new who is a deep 360 fanboy and it's like I say things that are true about 360 and PS3 and he gets bent out of shape and pissed right off the bat, it's like I can't tell him what he is missing out on. I wasn't calling him ignorant, I was saying others in general tend to be, and yeah he got pissed thinking I was calling him that. Even if I was, it is not calling someone stupid to say they are being ignorant. To be ignorant is being mis-informed and oblivious of what is around. I try to inform, he gets pissed. Eh...

Anyway I dunno what else to say about this, well I do. I guess I will, but note this is just my personal opinion this part. In that I feel 360 has brainwashed America to thinking it is the best thing ever when it is equal to the PS3 and how PC is better than both of those. That creates these bad fanboys of 360 to go around being arrogant and ignorant spewing out what they don't know. Just eh... I feel like 360 shouldn't exist anymore, could stop all this console war business. 360 doesn't have enough exclusives anymore to exist and should just merge with Sony. But I worry about that because I don't wanna be paying to play online either.

Just as I hear some people say, "People buy consoles for games, not consoles for the sake of being a console" and yet it is hard to see that sometimes you know? How games these days on 360 is also on PS3 and PC yet PS3 and of course Nintendo, come out with exclusives ONLY on their consoles, unless hacked and put on emulator on PC of course or whatever else. So why 360? I guess if someone really wanted Halo or Gears, eh? For me I feel owning a console is not worth it unless you plan to have at least 10 games for it, I think, if not more, of course.

Eh I dunno... and I think this thus ends my rant. Be civil? As hard as that can be I suppose, talking about gaming console vs gaming console, never tends to stay civil and always have someone who gets upset. I don't mean to upset but I can see how some will get upset over this, that is fine. It's just a matter of "It's ok to be upset, just don't deny those facts." And I know I will have people tell me "Well that is your opinion, not facts" in which I go "How is it my opinion with the proof is in front of your eyes? Look up 360 exclusives and PS3 exclusives. Who has more going for them? How is that opinion and not fact?" And I mean the good kind, not the casual or other games no one cares about, it is not just about quantity here, but quality.

Again though, try to keep things civil. Now ends my rant even though I said that already. If I was unclear about some things, I am sorry.

Other points of interest, unrelated to this but still related to gaming. A must watch.

" In which they just refuse to accept any logic, sense and truth, like really.
Do you even need to continue? X3

And I suspect they feel the need to justify their purchase, or make themselves feel superior to other people because others didn't choose what he picked. [shrugs] It's all irrational, illogical & a big waste of time.
Raukue

Yeah. I think I put that somewhere. Like if they really believe the crap they spew out or just say that to justify their purchase. But then you have those who say they have PS3 as well and it gathers dust, though could just be a lie when they say they have a PS3, just so they sound like they are being more fair?

But yeah, I don't even bother to fight against others on boards and comments on the web, just no point. Just wanted to make a rant is all. Anytime I see such comments on gaming sites and all, I just leave it alone, just no point and a waste of time, yeah. How it seems only way someone agrees with you is if they already do, at least on the internet. And if they don't, then they won't ever change their mind, people are stubborn.

Some people just have too much time on their hands. =p

If I had to chime in on the differences, it looks like the PS3 edition has higher quality shadows (you'll see the 360 shadows look more 'chunky') but I read down in the comments that the 360 edition has a higher framerate. Not sure why there's such a contrast difference, that could easily be fixed on anyone's TV.

Personally, I'm basically done with consoles. They're like a little 'company town' in your living room. All your software is from one source (everything must be approved by Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo to be on their systems), your hardware is from one source, usually the best accessories is from one source, you only get one choice of online/multiplayer service, all system updates are forced onto you, any tinkering with the hard/software voids your warranty, etc, etc.

Heh well regardless, I was just showing the guys comments, how bad it gets. How even on games where it is a tie or PS3 comes out better he still says something, on just comparison. But when it is the final analysis and PS3 wins he usually doesn't say anything. But yeah, just it is comments like that, that make me erk at 360 fanboys and why I have come to not like 360 for what it represents. Before I got my PS3 I didn't care about any of that, since I was still stuck in last gen, but since I got up to this gen, I notice these things now.

As for your giving up consoles, yeah games are expensive and publishers doing backwards business deals, I added 2 links to my journal that pretty much say what you already know but I didn't really see how bad it was until I saw those videos. Just greedy greedy publishers.

Kinda an old video I notice... and yet you see publishers continue to use DRM harder and stronger than before. Just sad, you have those speaking the truth out there and... it does nothing to stop or change that. Ubisoft getting worse with DRM and EA getting worse with charging more for DLC and cutting a game off to sell as a service of constant payments... man it is just so upsetting. They are just so afraid of piracy and losing money, no one wants to take the risk of offering their games to be cheaper and DRM free and see if they make more sales. I feel they would make more sales. Just when they put things like this, it just promotes piracy and makes it stronger.

2009 wasn't that long ago, was it? X3 Now he was at some sort of book publishers convention, but he used examples of other industries where they've faulted and failed. Of course it's fallen on deaf ears because we're not dealing with rational people, we're dealing with greedy people who are very willing to do extremely irrational things to make an extra buck. Money is the only thing that matters to them. Money is the only thing that matters to 'share holders'. They don't give a rat's ass what they're selling; they'd sell you a flaming bag of dog shit for $1000 if you're willing to buy it. All we got to do is stop buying! Stop supporting these monster companies who are trying to force us into accepting these irrational measures. It's really that simple. (And that, btw, is why I won't buy anymore consoles because shit is getting pretty bad on there.)
Raukue
12 years, 2 months ago
Yeah but... pointless. Too many people still buy and you are just 1 person. Especially those gamers that are not in the know how, that do not know these things. Mostly those casual or bro gamers who don't read up on gaming sites, just buy what they want, and those are in the millions, so yeah. If only we could stop everyone from buying a game until they lower prices and stop all this DRM and anti-piracy bull.

But yeah, greed is what drives them. I feel they would make the same amount or even more money if they stop this whole DRM and other measures that screw consumers, and if games start off at $40 on release and all that. Only difference is that more people would have the games, which is more win for everyone. But no one wants to take that risk it seems. They want more money than they even need to keep living and the company running.
Shokuji

Awareness can help, that's why I'll talk about when asked. The more who know about it the more people will stop, think, & adjust their behaviors a bit.. for their own good, no less. There are companies out there who do put games out for a reasonable price and DRM free. Usually they're indie developers and such but if they keep up with their games they'll get more support and one day will become a player with the big boys. The only thing they can't do is partner up with a publisher or allow themselves to get bought out by a larger developer (or publisher). The more independent developers we have the less power publishers have overall. One day they'll break, die off or change their ways and we can finally have better days once again. =3

They're closer to each other technically than any two competing consoles have ever been before. I don't think one has any more reason to exist than the other :P
I've found few excuses to boot either console in the past year though. 2010 had a lot of games on the consoles you couldn't miss, but for 2011 it just felt like a lot of sequels and shit. A lot of the big games that aren't first party end up on PC anyway, and there are lot of good indie releases that have kept me occupied that didn't release on consoles. Plus, Steam is way more convenient and capable than either of the online platforms.
Raukue
12 years, 2 months ago
Yeah, I been in a gaming drought, sucks. Haven't touched my consoles in over 2 months because just haven't felt like gaming. All I managed to play and get into were some games on Steam since yeah, more convenient. Mostly just Doom for about half a month or whole month I dunno. Then a bit of Max Payne and then Binding of Isaac which got me hooked but now I think I am passed that as of 2 days ago.

Still though, the more exclusives a console has, the more sense it has to exist though, is what I mean. PC well, most devs and publishers are afraid of PC because you know, piracy runs so rampant on PC. Part of why consoles will always exist I suppose.

Anyway back on the drought, I have felt like playing GTA IV again but at the same time, don't. I do and don't, dunno how to explain. It's like I am afraid to always start up a game. Even when I got a new game and played it every day for 4 hours and all and enjoyed every moment... it's like each new day I would be afraid to start it up again, but make myself do so and of course once I start playing, enjoy it and have fun.

So dunno what I am gonna do now. Either force myself to load up a game I have felt in the mood for kinda, like GTA IV or Metroid Prime, or find something else.

You mention GTA IV, but did you play Red Dead Redemption?
Raukue
12 years, 2 months ago
Nah I didn't. I forgot about it. Maybe a game I should pick up? Just thing is with that game, it looks better on 360 from what I seen. And runs better, shame Rockstar seems to do that whole, 360 as lead and port over to PS3 it looks like, so PS3 version suffers. I guess graphics aren't everything though, but I want the better experience. Though I prefer PS3 and all so I dunno. I got GTA IV complete for PS3 even though I think it suffered graphically some, though not as much as RDR, and had frame drops, especially in the factory area with all those yellow pipes and all while I think the 360 version ran fine.

I really hope with GTA V that PS3 is the lead or using that device or something that makes the game on both PS3 and 360 as the same time that way they come out equal. I have my doubts though. I am just tired of this whole, 360 as lead, ported to PS3, PS3 version suffers as a result. I hope Rockstar has learned by now, PS3 as lead and port to 360, much easier process and comes out equal on both that way. Not only that, I wish they would use more of the blu-ray disc for an open world game, using that extra space could use better textures or whatever else having that extra space can do.

I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between the two without comparing videos directly.
You should definitely check if out if you're looking for an open world gaming fix that doesn't sacrifice a good story. RDR was probably game of 2010 for me.

Yeah I looked at a comparison in that game. PS3 is missing grass. The water doesn't look as good. The signs aren't that clear. I look at that Lens of Truth site for that and all. And I mean I know if I just play the game it wouldn't matter but still, just erks me at how I am playing a version that is inferior in graphics here and there and performance.

I like to call myself a "Sony Loyalist."  To me, the term "fanboy" has the negative connotation of the obsessed fan that's immune to logic and reason.  I grew up on Nintendo, so they will always have a spot in my gamer heart, and as a teen I became a PlayStation fan.  But in both this gen and the previous one, I owned all three consoles.  I bought the original Xbox for Fable and KOTOR, and I bought a 360 for Mass Effect.  So I don't consider myself a fanboy.  I want Sony to succeed more than either of its competitors, but I'm not so blinded by that loyalty that I can't see Sony's flaws or accept that the other companies have some good stuff on their systems.  Or that the 360 versions of multi-plat games may be better.

I don't understand fanboys.  I've played the first three Halo games and thought they were average at best.  I played Gears of War and was bored out of my mind after the first act.  So bored that I couldn't bring myself to play any more.  Then there's the COD Modern Warfare series, which started off pretty good with COD4, but then had an abysmal campaign in the sequel that just killed any good will I might have had for the series.  I don't do online multiplayer.  Well, except for the new Twisted Metal game.  That's fucking sweet.  But it seems like fanboys will rabidly consume and defend any online multiplayer, no matter how average or mediocre the game is.  Worse yet is that game critics lavish these games with near perfect scores as if they're the most amazing game experiences ever.

Then again Mario Galaxy 2 got a perfect score from IGN when it was a boldfaced copy of the first game with a less interesting hub world and Yoshi.  So maybe critics are just full of shit.
Raukue

Yeah, I guess the term fanboy seems to come off as negative these days. And yeah, as much as I want Sony to succeed as well, I can't help but feel they are making some bad choices and might crash if they don't shape up. Since Sony is Japan, it is a bit like Japan has lost their minds and lost touch with gaming. Too focused on trying to make some awesome innovative hardware that it gets to their heads and leads to poor sells as a result. They don't seem to realize that hardcore gamers don't care about things like that and are just fine with a simple controller. Yet of those PS4 controller rumors are true, with the sensors to know when you sweat and stressed and heart racing, then dam Sony just no. That just jacks up the cost and just seems like a gimmick no one would care for. It shouldn't be the focus of the console, it should be an optional side thing. To make it the focus is to send the console to it's doom.

And yeah, with Halo and Gears I mean, I enjoyed what I played, but it seems these 360 fanboy gamers, come off as bro gamers usually. Only into CoD and FPS games. How if a game doesn't have blood and guns, it sucks and is a terrible game to them. I don't see those kind of gamers as "real gamers" because they can't enjoy all types of games. They can't enjoy Mario, Kirby or games like inFamous or Dark Souls or something, things being different than guns and gore. It's those type of people that seem to be these fanboys that bash PS3 and Nintendo, siding with their precious 360. How they think they are real gamers and how hardcore games have to have guns and be dark and realistic, when they are just childish and well... not real gamers. CoD is a prime example of how many "non-real gamers" there are out there. Why else would a game that puts more work and effort into it, sell far less than a game that recycles quite a few things and doesn't do much to improve the game and just another FPS game? Because all those bro gamers, that only have CoD and maybe a few FPS games, come out of the woods... so yeah.

I've not seen any of those controller rumors on any reputable sites like Kotaku or IGN, so I'm gonna assume those "rumors" are total bullshit.  Nintendo already tried that with the Vitality Sensor, and that was such a flop it didn't make it past prototype phase.

Sony made bad decisions with the original design of the PS3, but they've turned it around a lot.  The Vita looks like it can be a much more credible challenger to Nintendo's handheld dominance than the PSP was.  And the PSP was no slouch, either.  I think the PSP might be the only handheld to survive an entire hardware generation alongside a Nintendo portable system.  The Lynx, Game Gear, Game.com, Neo Geo Pocket, etc. all died before the next hardware generation began.

Ken Kutaragi wanted the PS3 (and the PSP to a lesser extent) to do way too much, and it ended up with a bloated and overpriced design.  Remember how the UMD was going to be the next big thing in portable media formats?  Or how the PS3 was originally going to have two HDMI ports so you could hook it up to two HDTVs and have a super-widescreen view?  (Because everyone has two HD televisions positioned right next to each other, right?)  Since Kutaragi left, the insane decision making has gone with him, and I think Sony is back on track.
Raukue

Kotaku tends to be the one that spreads rumors alot that don't end up being true. Think they were the ones who said that about the controller. They love to spew out rumors only for it to be found total bull. So eh... anyway here was the link.

http://www.destructoid.com/sony-patents-biometric-cont...

Just if that is true, just no. I don't like that Japan has lost their minds and lost touch with gaming and too focused on things like that, which hardcore gamers don't care about. Just hope it is not true.

It's just a patent, though.  Companies patent things all the time, and only a few things ever get made.  Patents don't mean anything.

Yeah I know. Still, it is worrisome, hope they don't make a bad move with the PS4 to make it all expensive and other gimmicks and all. Just make it more powerful, reliable and that is it, hardware wise. Obviously they should put more RAM which should then give cross game chat and other features Sony says PS3 can't do because of the low RAM.

Fanbases can get pretty extreme sometimes espeically if they dont want to listen or go with a good fair debate of the facts. I personally see it as PS3 for solo games and 360 for multi only because at this moment, 360 has the best online system and support. PS3 service can hick up a lot even on wired connection. Wii there is no helping that one. Also I noticed that 360 versions are a bit more on the stable release than the ps3 counterpart (unless you include the pc which has the most stable release always). Things may change on the next gen.
Raukue
12 years, 2 months ago
Games on 360 might be more stable only because the devs didn't know how to work with the PS3. That is what creates this whole, 3rd party games better on 360 vibe with others. It's why you have 360 fanboys gloating like they do, ignorant that it is not the console to why it is better, but how it was developed. If you notice, games that had PS3 as the lead tend to be a bit better on PS3 or equal to 360, because 360 is easier to port to rather than start as a lead and then port over to PS3. Easier to walk downhill than it is to walk uphill and most devs back then, and some still do it now but most are learning, that starting on 360 and then porting to PS3 just ain't easy while PS3 to 360 is easier and gives a better experience for all. But thing is, if 360 wasn't around, there would be no need for porting at all, except to PC I suppose, and we'd get games sooner?

As for the online, I dunno. From what little I played I have had no real issues. It seems to be hit and miss with people.

And yeah fanbases... just look at the Zelda fanbase. Official timeline comes out and they still can't accept it. Thing is, Nintendo made games for being games, not stories or timelines. Mario and Zelda are same hand in hand. Miyamoto just made those games for being games and fun. But people cared more about Zelda and it seems once a fanbase becomes too strong, they seem to suddenly care about timelines and all that. So fans made up timelines, which wasn't there, forcing Miyamoto to come up with his own. But he never planned for there to be a timeline, he was just making a game for fun, like the Mario series, which no one cares about a Mario timeline so... yeah.

Also, Sony has stupid rules for making a game for there system. All I know is that my ps3 makes one damn fine of a blu-ray player.

As for the timelines, there is no such thing in mario, none of of the games are really connected at all (outside of galaxy). Also if you want to talk about timelines, care to go into megamans? =P

as a 360 user i do heavly dislike some things that ps3 got. mainly in the non exclusive games.
Like tales of vesperia had more to offer on ps3. like more characters to use. an extra items/dungeons.
Espeally when we should have the same games when its across systems.(its not like soul caliber
and their character exclusives) Main reason i have 360 is all my friends had it and i wanted to play
games with them.

Honestly i see a lot of bad gamers. Mainly in FPS games. To be honest im sick of FPS games.
I want me some monster hunter. BTW xbox live as a pay service is stupid. you have to pay
so you can play the games you paid for, online.. its not like an mmo or something.

To be honest im slowing down as a gamer. Games are too expensive, all the extra wallet draining
via dlc is irritating... its sucky.

as for brainwashing.. all commercial anythings try to do that. XD

Yeah, like I commented here about Xbox Live, which I didn't realize was a rip-off till recently a few months back.

https://inkbunny.net/journalview.php?id=30265#commentid...

And heh I like when things come exclusive to a PS3 version of a game, to upset all those un-deserving 360 owners. The bad kind of course. A shame with those who aren't bad, like those kind of gamers you come across in a FPS game and as I stated earlier, online in comments on the web, and miss out but yeah, 360 is just as bad with buying exclusives to their system. And how they have said themselves that if PSN gets a game on there first over XBLA, then 360 doesn't want the game on XBLA at all. They seem childish like that. The Simpsons game was to come out on PSN first but because of that there, XBLA got it first. Just like the 360 to be childish, eh? If they can't have it first they don't want it at all.

And yeah, I have a friend who prefers to get a PS3, he has played PS3 in the past but never owned... but because all his friends are on 360, he got a 360. That seems to be another reason people go 360 over PS3. Which I guess I can understand but is also sad, how feels one of those types of people who feel multiplayer needs to be in every game and can't even enjoy single player in games.

But yeah if you see videos like this:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisiti...

And the 2 that followed, it makes one sad at how publishers have such backward business plans. Instead of adapting with the marketing they just keep going back to the stone age and fighting against it, their greed knows no bounds. I feel games should be $40 at most brand new I swear. Then you have EA that has just lost ALL control, trying to put a service in all their games, like seriously. How they have applauded the COD Elite saying it is brilliant because it is such a cheap way to make lots more money. So if you been seeing news about EA lately, they have just lost all control and seem to hide nothing about how they purposely cut off from a game just to sell us as DLC or as a service. Makes me sad with how overpriced DLC as well, what happened to getting a full game? DLC should be very cheap I swear, but since you have people who keep spending $15 on map packs, which honestly should be more around $1 for 4 maps or something at most, publishers just keep charging more than they should because people just keep buying.

Bought an Xbox 360 just to be able to play Fable 3 last year, a very rash and stupid decision and I was even aware of it at that point. But I wouldn't listen to my logic and after one evening playing I had already finished the game, I don't care for achievements on there.

So yeah, stuck with a brand new expensive console gathering dust, don't like the games they offer for it otherwise either so meh. Only enjoyed Dante's Inferno up until the point where I got stuck right before the first gluttony boss on almost dead hp, can't get past it unless I start all over again for which I lift my middle finger up.

Yeah that is a trap we fall for these days, with games as well as a console. Get into the hype. People talking about it, make it sound like this greatest game ever, but you finally play it and it isn't as great as you expected. But yeah even I have and still do make rash decisions and buy something right away and realize I could've saved 50% at least if I had just waited or something else like that.

I dunno about rare. But it's just with what you see online from 360 fanboys, tends to be rather negative and stupid. Which makes it seem common. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't but from what I see it is. But I know there are sensible 360 owners out there who know better.

Yeah. People are a stupid folk? Kinda sad at how many people lack common sense and logic and give into such human instinct like that.

Perhaps my biggest annoyance is when a commercial  for a multi-platform game (resent example: FFXIII-2) try to pass off the game as exclusive to one console. (In example: they finish the ad with the Xbox 360 animation they typically use for exclusive titles.)

It's as though they're desperately trying to make Final Fantasy believe that XIII-2 is only on the 360 when it's on both 360 and PS3. Of course, the same has gone in reverse for some games. I remember ads for GTA IV advertizing itself like a 360 exclusive, and then show the same ads with the PS3 bumpers. Only rarely was it advertized without either bumpers and only displayed the logos of both consoles.

To me, it seems like an underhanded way of trying to trick gamers into thinking a multi-platform game is either exclusive to one platform, or making it appear as though one version is better than the other when both are the same.

I do give credit, however, when they actually list a true positive reason to buy one version of a game. Such as ads for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 boasting that you can play the game online free via PlayStation Network. This is in fact true as Xbox 360 owners would have to pay a fee to do the same thing. If not for that, then both versions would pretty much be on equal ground, and that small difference is the only separator.

Of course, it's pretty rare, at least at this point, that there are huge advantages over owning one version of a game over the other, besides an online fee. You're pretty much getting the same game whether you buy it for the PS3 or 360. Only minor differences like controller configuration, and if it has motion control options (SixAxes or Motion Controller on PS3 vs body gestures and voice commands on Kenect on 360, both being employed differently due to the vast differences of the platforms, but it's exclusive titles that take better advantages more often than multi-platform, so it almost renders this a Moo Point.)

Yeah, that is what I mean about 360 being able to brainwash America like that. It's as you said, they advertise a game and give the 360 logo thing making it seem like it is for 360 only and all. And how stores and other such places advertise 360 like crazy, making others think that PS3 is 2nd class or something.

Man I am praying that GTA V is equal on both, or better on PS3. I don't want it to drop frames and all. I mean I am gonna get it on PS3 regardless, because if I ever wanna do online, which I never seem to do, to why I need it to be free. To pay monthly for something I won't touch, being online, can't do, would be a waste.

Brainwashing? Buying ad-space is brainwashing nowadays?
Geez...

Nvidia is doing the same thing for a bunch of PC games, by putting money into the publishers hands to have the "Best played on Nvidia" logo roll on startup. To a smaller extent AMD is doing this as well. It's not a big deal.

And you know why the PlayStation 3 version of GTA IV suffered from performance issues? It's a combination of a poor engine and PlayStation 3 being a mess for developers to work with - and with Microsoft being the ones putting the money into the development, why would they spend the extra time to get the PlayStation 3 release to work as it should when Sony couldn't be arsed to make it worth their time?

I...I'm a fangirl..I own a ps3,360,PC,Wii,DS lite and ps2. I'm pretty satisfied with anything. Over all though,I have to go with 360. PS3's are...eh. I grew up with a PS2. Its fun,but PS3 is ok. I mean i got mine to play uncharted,inFamous etc. all the games i couldnt play on 360. *Shrug*

But otherwise every game you do play is also on PS3 and PC, right? Just I don't understand that. It's preferring a console of the sake of preferring the console, not the games. Can't say prefer 360 because of the games only on it because they are also on PS3 and PC. Though to prefer it because of the controller or better online, from what I hear, because that too just like with PS3's online seems hit and miss depending on the person, then that makes more sense.

But yeah I mean you said it there, getting a PS3 to play the games only on PS3. How PS3 has probably well around 20 games only on PS3, more or less. While 360 just has Halo 3, Reach. Gears 1 to 3. That is about 5 games. Of course Dead Rising 1. And Halo ODST or whatever it was called. Still, hard to name around 20 exclusives for 360 that most care about, like with Halo or Uncharted. I don't even know if there are 20. But yeah I guess if you don't have interest in Halo or Gears and all then... yeah.

Yep,don't play Halo or Gears. And I don't like how PS3 is online,it's a bunch of...mess. That's all Sony really is now. ._.

Eh it is not a mess. I think that is just a state of mind. I think I am OCD so when my state of mind is scrambled it makes me not feel toward something cause it just feels messy. I wonder why if I am in a gaming drought, because I realize how games could've been much better if not for greedy publishers and all. And eh I guess if you only care about online and not single player games well... that explains something. Not saying you are this, but sad how there are gamers out there who don't care for single player in games much anymore.

Just eh, you have greedy Microsoft and you have Sony taking such extreme anti-piracy measures which is just a waste of time and money and makes things more expensive as a result. Wish they would just learn and stop doing that, not just Sony but publishers all around, EA, Activision and so on.

I'm Not Really Against PS3 at all.. it just I Want to Change and try other things, That's why I wanna buy a Xbox360 mainly cuz of the Kinect I've Tried it and I love it, and I dont want a PS3 because it doesnt have a Kinect and sadly I care to much about the Look and I dont like the Look of PS3 and the controller isnt something new.. the Xbox is new to me.

Sadly Now I dont know wich one to get.. If I had money I would Buy the Xbox and a Bluray Player, If Had more I would get both PS3 and Xbox.. but It seems now That I MIGHT get a PS3 just because of the BluRay and Free Online..I didnt actually LIked the fact that PSN got hacked lot of times, even if its not PS3 fault I Think its not good At the same time..

Maybe I'll Change to PS3 but I dont think I'll try The Move, I've wanting to try that on the Wii but now I just dont care about that stuff..

Oh well I'm not sure wich to get.. though PS3 is Cheaper, at least here

EDIT:  I think the PS3 Could be.. I could connect it to my PSP

All about what games you want. If all you want is games that are on all platforms, if you have a good PC, get them on PC. If you want a console, go with either one. But if the PS3 exclusives such as inFamous, Uncharted, LBP, Killzone, Twisted Metal, God of War and all that interest you, then PS3 is the better choice. Remember, it is all about what games you want to play. Don't get a console for the sake of a console. To get one over the other means missing out on exclusives, more exclusives to miss out on the PS3 though, but if you don't care for any of them then either stick with PC if it is able to handle such games or get 360 or PS3, whichever you want.

I'm likely going to go into a TGO rant for my tastes so sorry if I get long.

I admit that I'm a nintendo fan.  With that out of the way I mostly see civil rants about games and the like on a few forms.  Though mostly I do see what happens when ANYONE mentions the N...

" NINTENDO IS SO GOING TO FAIL!

" NITENDO?  BABY S**T!  GO GET A REAL CONSOLE!

" Sorry...but your comment is invalid because of your agelimit.  It's proven because you own a nintendo.

Yea... that.

It makes me wonder how people can even think Civil with how they act and how they treat eachother.   I'm GLAD not to have voice chat on wifi with most of the games... or at least have the option of turning it off.  Since I don't need to hear the mouths of 4-chan in a game. (Though I wish some people would do voice chats in Pokemon Battles since you at least can be sure of whom you are battling and try to have fun or have a nice chat...or even an interview on the handheld.)  And then we come to games and this is which honestly got me wondering WHY people RAN from them when they.....oh yea... from the 64 to Gamecube...

Well If anything I feel like third parties shouldn't be bound by whom ever offers up (*points to Microsoft with Rare*) but to whom the console seems best fit for them.  For example:  I love Banjo-Kazooie and the sequal Tooie.  Then they went to Microsoft's Xbox 360 and became....nuts and bolts... enough said.

In conclusion.  I would love to see everyone get along...but sadly...as my fave guy said in one of his videos "Peace, however lasting, is stagnet.  Conflict, however violent, is progress." at least as far as I think of it.

Yeah... back in the day it was rare that Rare made a bad game.... but now it is rare that Rare makes a good game... ha. Really, publishers should learn to let the devs do what they once since they have proven themselves already. Meh. Now having them make casual games like that Kinect Sports.

As for Nintendo... yeah I mean it does feel like they are on the brink of dying. But I guess Mario and Zelda keeps them alive. If not for that, they probably would be dying very soon. I mean I like Nintendo too with the games and all but you can't deny that they are too focused on hardware stuffs or other things to try and innovate gaming. They had even said they never meant for the Wii to be for casual gamers yet... as you can see. Nintendo should just move to Sony, heheh. That would put a big edge over 360 for sure. But it'd be so weird to see a Zelda and Mario game and all for PS3 like that.

But eh yeah I dunno... it feels Japan has lost touch and is in the past still with gaming. Like they have lost their minds, even Sony is on the brink of making bad moves because they want to focus on some sort of innovation that just comes off as a gimmick, such as Nintendo has been doing. Hardcore gamers just want gaming as it has been, just a controller and nothing more. But eh... yeah. Sony putting too much effort into anti-piracy, it just costs them money and doesn't work. As Jim has said in his videos, people pay for convenience. So the less restriction a game has, the more people are willing to buy it. Cause to pay $60 for a PC game that is DRM and at any point can be taken away from you or you can't play because lack of internet... yeah someone is more likely to pirate because they have more freedom with the game than someone who paid for it.

But eh... Japan. Think they are strongly loyal to Nintendo so it might not die because of that, and Mario and Zelda.

If you ask me, Nintendo is still a real leader as far as taking the first step.  I mean I got a great laugh out of people thinking the Wii U will be the console for a moment while I seen possibilities in it.  Being an RPG gamer it would not only make it quicker to put inventory in reach but also make it quick to scan the battlefield, do a little Libra on the foes and friends and then start the on slot of attacks (And Pokemon could highly benefit from this in a way since you could pull what other gens did:  Put the controls onto the mini screen to let the player pick moves without being watched.)

If Nintendo does go under I hope it is the last one to do so since I feel like they were the ones whom brought gaming to the people and they should be the last ones to give up their console waring.  Though then again...we still got the handhelds...

Though I got to worry on how the world would be if all three systems had a handheld version.... THEN let the fireworks begin to fly! *cackle mad*

Still, at the least I say Sony and Nintendo should exist. It was only them until Microsoft decided to step their greedy foot in. Nintendo is pretty different in the games it has, so it has right to exist. And well PS3 and 360 are pretty much the same... BUT PS3 has enough exclusives to have right to exist as well so... 360 is just in the way. Oh sure 360 brought some good things and all but yeah...

Thing is, all these bro gamers... all these non-true gamers came in I suppose around PS1 or PS2, though not many, same with Xbox. But once 360 came around it brought such a large herd of those non-true gamers I consider them. How before games became all guns and gore and all that, those people who now play games like CoD, Gears, Halo... called games for kiddies. That games were gay and anyone who played them were kids and gay. But then blood and all that comes around and suddenly those same people are gaming... but they aren't true gamers. Because they only like games with guns and blood. They don't like Mario, Zelda, Kirby and other more toon like, classic and retro games. To be a true gamer, I think anyway, is to have an open mind to all kinds of games. If you can't like a game because it lacks guns and blood... that is saying something.

Anyway I dunno. I just feel Japan is losing their minds. Sony and Nintendo with some bad moves and all. I mean I guess their culture is different and they are more interested in new tech, no matter how gimmicky it seems.

I agree... at least Nintendo and the company spawned by Nintendo's worry of CDs (sony) should be around...at least to give gamers a better choice of games.  I'm also able to agree that (besides Sports games which are just REMIXED VERSIONS OF THE SAME BIDOOF GAME!) the games of guns are able to eat up the very soul of gaming.  And most of the video game media market seems to love it.  I sure like playing other games but I'll admit.... I got turned off due to how EVERYONE loved Goldeneye 007 (N64) and I mostly ran with playing Banjo-Tooie for a more fun 'gun game' if at all.  If Microsoft ever learns they only got one demographic at best (if they ever lose their motion control) to depend on them.

I know they'll want new tech but if they're that happy with it...why not delay it until it's fully functional where it is?  Though one thing I will ask of two things:  One:  What you think of Pokemon making a different version of Chess?  Two:  Your two coins on the new releases of PKMN W2 and PKMN B2.

So you determine the right of existence of a product based on exclusive titles?
I hope you do understand that measure is absolutely meaningless. It's not as much about quantity as it is quality.

Quality itself being subjective, a comparison overall is not possible to do objectively.
As for much of the exclusives on Xbox 360, sure, it's shooters to the most part. That being because the consumers on Xbox 360 are comfortable with that genre and the system itself has made clear it's designed with that in mind. Unlike PlayStation 3 and their, for shooters, quite worthless controllers.

Gaming culture has changed since the 90's, get over it.
Me too can get nostalgic over retro games, but I'm not mental. Their only appeal is nostalgia. For younger gamers there's just nothing to get out of booting up 8-bit Super Mario more than perhaps being given an hint of how the evolution of games as a media has gone through.

I've been an Xbox 360 enthusiast since I got my first system in 2008. Worked like a charm and Xbox Live features made it worth the money as I could easily join my friends, set up party chats and all that jazz. But since then Microsoft hasn't done much to be happy about, it's all just introducing more cumbersome DRM and giving Kinect way too much room, failing to realize the interests of the current consumers.

With that said, Sony hasn't really taken a step forward with their system either. Pulling back Linux support in newer firmware, removing PS2-compability, introducing gimmicky features like PlayStation Home instead of listening to the consumers and what has been requested since release-day. Not to mention Sony has been worse than Microsoft when it comes to nasty DRM.

But comparing Microsoft and Sony it's still Microsoft picking the longest straw this generation out of the two. Not without its flaws, but nonetheless. Sony didn't seem to have any idea of what they wanted to do with the PlayStation 3 both in terms of hardware and more crucially the software. The online service is a cumbersome mess that lacks alot of critical features, such as universal game invites*, party/group chats and that kind of service that makes social gaming possible online. And you know something is a bit wanked up if Sony wants you to put money their way for an auto-update feature, especially when the system they use can take 10 minutes to update firmware and game updates when you first boot it up.

I barely use either of my Xbox 360 "slim" or my PlayStation 3 "slim" anymore - but my PlayStation 3 is pretty much just an accessory of mine - sometimes used as a Blu-ray player at best.
