This week's webcomic page

As well as possibly the page of next week or even the week after.
Let me get a little bit real and less, say, upbeat than usual.
I am not exactly happy with my comics. I do not know exactly what it is that makes me feel this way, most likely it is a combination of many small irritants. However, I think it says something when each week, creation of the weekly page is always postponed until the last possible moments. At first, I thought the weekly page deadline was a good way to keep me "in check", not to let these stories get pushed aside and fade into the ether. And admittedly, that was true for some time, however, it might have been a temporary thing... might have "burned out".
I think I need to set aside some time to figure things out - I need a hiatus. It is a bold statement after the quite recent hiatus I've had in the 1st half of the summer, but I don't know what else to do right now.
I need to figure something out to return in me the joy of telling those stories... or at least the joy in telling what is left and making them whole.

So, I guess there's that.
I'm sure current life stress has had a role in this decision of mine, but just because I can endure it during the "breeze", does not mean it can't have real issues in need of fixing.
Alright, I'll end this before I get philosophical or something like that.

Just for the record:
- No, I am not discontinuing Amber's No-Brainers or Peanut Berry Sundae... at least, not yet.
- Of course you can leave your "two cents" on the whole matter. In fact it might help out if you've noticed something I've not.
- I did not really "proof-read" anything I wrote, please forgive any confusing statements.

P.S. I want to add a big "Thank You" to all the readers of the comics. Your continued support does mean a lot.

I do love Amber and am glad to have run across her recently!  Adorable and awesome and all of that.  But I get being burnt out, and one has to take care of oneself first and foremost.  Take the time that you need and your fans will be waiting here for a triumphant return! ^_^

My wife is a artist and wants to do a daily/weekly/monthly comic however she can have a problem where, doing the art is a job vs enjoyable to the artist and after a few months gets burned out on the drawing.  If drawing it not something that you want to do to have fun but is work (which is what it is sounding like it is becoming to you.  Taking a break from it can the best thing for you.  I'm sure everyone has a story but for me personally, it was World of Warcraft game.  I been playing it for year and my main that I played had over a year of play time on her and had a fair number of friends in the game.  However, in the last year, I would log in less and less until, I only logged in when I had to for the team that I was in.  I looked forward to the days where I did not have to play.   I should have stopped and most likely I would have gotten my love back in a month of two but I just went to a point there I hated logging in and at times now, I am sad I pushed it that far as I miss the people I needed to leave behind in game but I can't play anymore.

You don't want what you are doing to get to that point if this is something you enjoy doing for the most part.  I would take a break.  Don't say things like I will be back in a couple of months as you will just stress that you will "have" to start in a couple of months and you will burn out anyway.  Just see what happens.  If you want to draw on the comic, or day dream about stories, then it is fine, you are doing what you want and enjoying it.  Maybe build up a large buffer or at least get to break point where you know you can take another break if you want.

A comic that I like to follow is called skin deep (skindeepcomic.com)  She will work on a chapter and then go on break for a few months.  Maybe she will post sketches that she drew over the last few months but she does not "have" to work on the comic while the break is going on.  I think that allows her to recharge and keep going for years.

On a side note, I enjoy your comic.  I enjoy it enough to hope that you don't get burned out to the point of never working on it again and post one of my view comments on this site.  I personally like how the characters are female and have personality and can easily pass the Bechdel test.  Because of that I feel it is a rare gem in furry comics.

The comics have been great to read and it's sad you need a break. But if you need a break then you need a break! Hope you can get back to it soon, but no pressure! Enjoy your break!

Yeah, sounds like you need to find a better balance so you don't get entirely burnt out, so I hope your break is a restorative one and you can find some insight into what's bothering you about them! We'll be here when you're ready, take the time you need. ^-^

Usually, when you feel you need to take a break from drawing, it's for the best. Forcing yourself to draw would probably result in art you would regret later.
