Bad News

Beware of Romulans bearing bad news.

This is on the streaming front, as of right now, that will be impossible. The ISP that I have here in the trailer sucks shit, and their speeds are slow as hell. And makes it even worse is they only provide the slowest speed possible to the area, so I can't upgrade with them. And to complicate matters even more, the ISP is DSL not cable. And the only cable connection that I've found as of now is in the master bedroom. Unless there is another one that I haven't found, I would have to have the cable company create a new coax line and install it in the living room.

So for now, any thoughts on streaming are on hold until I can figure things out over here, which may not be until part way through September.

Same here. I would like to stream, but with this connection it isn't going to happen.

Ugh, I feel your pain, been living with satellite internet for the past 3 years because its the only thing out there, hope you can get something better because neither are fun.

Yeah, I'm going to go to the closest office for the cable company and talk to them about my place. See if they could either do something with the cables already here, or would they have to go through placing a new line for me and installing a coax plug in the wall.

You could have the cable people install it in the bedroom and then run a coax cable to the living room.  It wouldn't be pretty but it would do the job.  You'll have to run it out to the living room yourself though, cable companies frown on having their employees do that stuff for you because of liability stuff and so on.

You could get some hooks to run the cable through like up along the ceiling or something.  That's what I do.  My apartment has a coax connector right where my desk is but when the cable company tried to hook it up they found it was a dead end (the cable guy suggested it was an old-style coaxial hookup for an aerial antenna) and the actual cable hookup is on the other side of the living room.So I asked the employee for a length of cable that I thought would work and then just went ahead and ran it myself after he made sure that the connection was stable.
