At first I thought this was a haox so I looked it up and it looks legit but... 6 quills on her head on opposed to 5? Was that a mistake or a redesign? I mean she did have 3 quills in Sonic Drift 1 before they changed/fixed that in Drift 2, so maybe.
There changes I noticed compared to her official design are:
* Different eye shape. In all of the official art used by Sonic Team in the 90's, Amy's eyes had a more innocent and docile look that made her emote differently. This CGI rendering from X-treme gives her instead the "angry" eye design used for Sonic, which just looks odd.
* Three eye lashes instead of two.
* Six quills on her head. The official design has only five plus a smaller one on her back.
*Shoes are the wrong color. In art and even merchandise like the F4F mini figures, Amy's shoes are a very light blue with white, while here they are colored pink.
Something funny is that supposedly Amy's main ability would had been throwing rings. I'm actually happy that instead she got the Piko Piko hammer in Fighters since it is much more fitting and it's what pretty much defined what her abilities would be like in future games.

I noticed the shoes color is off too but weren't they purple? I always color them purple so I'm sure they meant that but fucked up the shade, as for the eyelashes I admit I didn't notice that until you mentioned it but that is true.
Another thing I noticed is she's messing her headband, also wasn't her front hair more circular in Sonic CD? Maybe it's a design choice though or the animators fucked up in Sonic CD.
The changes may very well be due to the game being handled by another team (think Sonic Chronicles and Sonic's blue arms among many other mistakes that most of them weren't even fixed not even in the one year later Japanese version) I remember reading/hearing the team that worked on X-Treme had very little knowledge about Sonic.
And I agree about the hammer, what started off as an anime running joke ended up as her defined ability.

I think you mean Tiara, it's possible they were both in the game, rumors has it even Sally was in the game at one point, but of course it could very well be a mistake just like Amy was thought to be Sally in Sonic CD.
