Alkaline Foods = Alkaline Blood

I've seen this myth a lot in various forms.  They recommend to be healthy you eat alkaline foods or even water to get a more alkaline blood.  I've even seen supposed doctors on youtube saying this nonsense.  First year anatomy or physiology classes should dispel this argument immediately.

And if anyone claiming to be a doctor tells you to eat acidic or alkaline foods, run away from them quickly, they are not good doctors.

First it should be obvious that the first major organ food goes into is the stomach which makes hydrochloric acid to digest food which is then neutralized by the intestines from chemicals from the pancreas and liver.  Dumping alkalines into your stomach only inhibits digestion.  In fact, there are many who believe that some acid reflux, indigestion is the stomach not producing ENOUGH acid.  This is also way taking a weak acid like apple cidar vinegar before a meal aids digestion.  Duh..

So common sense would say right there this belief is wrong, because the body self regulates itself.

This is even more so with blood.  There is an extremely narrow range of blood Ph it can be or you die....about 0.5 above and below 7, the Ph of water.  And it is self regulated, nothing eat will effect your blood Ph.  If it starts getting too alkaline, your body will induce rapid breathing which makes CO2 collect in blood stream forming carbolic acid to reduce the Ph.  If its too acidic it will dump carbonates into the blood to neutralize it.  What you eat has no effect.
