Hmm never played the first one but as far as I can see, the only issue has been communication errors for a few people for the splatfest event. Haven't experienced any lag or anything while playing.

Splatoon 2 is okay. What I'm looking forward to is Super Mario Odessy. That and LoZ: Breath of the Wild. Also, you may want to get a battery pack as well. the native battery life is only about a couple of hours, depending on the game being played.

It may sound lame but Layaway if you can find one. Its not a right now problem solving solution but you will have one. Splatoon is fun even if they first Splat Fest theme is questionable. Mayo v Ketchup and team mayo slings white ink... i can't unsee things.
But yeah if you are looking don't trust display cases. Like I told you, when I found mine they were in the back warehouse and they had more then one. Gotta ask the clerks for help and hope they are in a good mood. Or work commission.
