Since my journals have been mostly negative recently, I didn't want to post another one until I had good news to tell.
The good news is... I got a job! Finally, after so many months applying I got the job at Amazon warehouse. My feet and back hurt like crazy because I'm out of shape, but I'll catch the rythm. I hope now I can start paying my debts.
The sad news is my old Polo died two weeks ago. I don't feel bad because I know we gave him the best possible life. He lived to 16 in a loving home. He was happy and spoiled. During his last months he was too weak to walk so I had to carry him up and down the stairs to do his natural business on the grass. I stayed with him until almost the last second, gave him water and caressed him until he fell asleep. He didn't wake up next morning.
Polo was a pure breed Fox Terrier. A rich friend of my mother in law bought him in New York. He was being shipped to Florida on September 11, 2001. Which means he got stuck alone in his dog carrier for a several days in an airport while all flights were cancelled. Because of that he became traumatized and was afraid of being left alone. The family who bought him were idiots who didn't have patinece to deal with a dog that started to cry when you walked out of the room, so Polo ended up adopted by us.
A long life being fed and loved is all a human can ask for, so I'm sure your dog was grateful. : ) And hey, congratulations! I hope it ends up being a good opportunity for you.
