For those who are watching Dragon Ball Super

Is it just me,or are they making every furry character be super weak and easily defeated?

Nah, it's just Toei poor writting skill. Now they have several writers, so they can't make it constents.
But yeah, poor Majora. I expected quite a lot of him.

*shrug* I haven't watched any of the Universe Survival saga yet. I prefer to wait till sagas are complete and binge watch it rather than wait week to week for every new episode.

They aren't necessarily weaker than the other universes because they were eliminated first. They just made the mistake of rushing into a fight with goku.

The gods of destruction that are furries certainly aren't weak.

It's bnot just the universe 9 folk. See the fight between 18 and Krilin vs those 2 furries. Also the bird guy also was kicked out soon. They are making all furries lose first in this battle royale

*shrugs* i'm just happy there were legitimately strong furry characters to begin with, particularly Beerus

If you wanna get technical the only really furry part about em is... their fur. Which reptilians... aren't furry, birds.... not exactly fur either.

They're/were all animals, why you seem to think its relevant enough to care that beings fully covered in fur went first in tournament is beyond me.

The wolf pack crew had their threatening time in the previous tournament anyways.

I'm still not even 100% satisfied with how Vegeta is being handled TBH, he's gotten more awesome moments than he would've in Z yes, but all of the show's filler is basically just them making him look stupid

Okay I know this was posted 2 years ago, but I have to say, I was having the same thoughts when watching it. I was like "Wow their knocking out all the furry characters first. What, do they not like them or something?" Though when I actually thought about it, I'm sure it was just an unfortunate coincidence. After all, at least 5 of the destroyer gods are anthros.

True. Some of the furry designs were really nice, but they've always been fodder to the main characters to defeat. Then again, the gods are basically outclassed at this point. In Dragon ball super broly, they stated how broly is stronger than beerus.

anime and anthros....anthros are only cannon fodder and furry bait. not real characters.

Save a few rare exceptions, like beastars, kemono giga and niehime to kemono no ou

very few exceptions.

On that I agree. Sadly most furries or animal like creatures are mostly background charactarers. Take Final fantasy 12. They introduced the species of bangaa and didn't even create a playable bangaa character. Even FF 10 had the decency of having a ronso characater.

yep. japan does not care about anthros as character, they have an od yeller approach to them, drama devices or vehicles to show gore and not being censored, NOT A HUMAN CHARACTER, WE CAN KILL IT IN A GOREY FASHION WITH NO ISSUE. look at hunter x hunter. where an entire arc of the story was basically killing anthros again and again.

that's why i gave up on anime with anthros. killed off or wasted as background decorations and furry bait. i mean, even aggretsuko became nothing but the LET'S MAKE SURE HAIDA IS NEVER HAPPY CUS WE HATE HIM show. not interested in that crap anymore. there are way better smerican series using anthros as real characters, and better written.

I have to disagree on that. Most furry american characters are either geared towards little kids and the ones that aren't, are form dead franchises from the 90's (swat kats, cowboys of moo mesa, biker mice and so on).

At least there are still a few decent furry characters in some mangas. Aside form 3 three I've mentioned, there are: Sekai de Tadahitori no Mamono Tsukai ~Tenshoku Shitara Maou ni Machigawa Remashita (the MC is human, but he has furry allies),
Miss Kitty and Her Bodyguards (this one is korean), Minotaurus Sweetheart (the main character is a furry bull) and a few others whose names I can't remember now.

BOJACK HORSEMAN, FINAL SPACE, WE BARE BEARS, AMPHIBIA, TUKA AND BIRDIE (even though  cancelled, it had potential.) , REGULAR SHOW, THE OWL HOUSE,   there are no leomons in american cartoons (2012 tmnt master splinter is the only one i can remmeber, killed off 4 times, cus ciro nieli had no idea how to use him as a character.) the series i mentioned have anthros in them, and they are characters, part of the story, and most of all, very well written, even for "kids" shows (if you con sider bleach or hunter x hunter as series for adults...then the meaning of the word shonen changed and nobody told me) IF YOU LIKE ANIME SERIES WHERE ALL ANTHROS ARE USED TO MAKE HUMAN CHARACTERS LOOK STRONGER BY KILLING THEM, COOL. hunter x hunter did that, all anthros,no matter how strong, must be killed off by humans, or by other anthros just to say "hey, i am the bad guy" (pengu in hxh had no reason to be killed the way he did other than tell us something we already knew, the bad guy is evil. wasted character for a trope) jajuka in escaflowne dies stupid and horribly jus to make the villain wake up from a trance he could have broken on his own (and man, jajuka's death was graphic.) leomon's permanent death in digimon tri, the poster boy of toei and anime's hatred for anthro characters. and dragon ball super, making anthros literally cannon fodder. so...yeah....i prefer series "for kids" very well written, where characters are explored and are part of the story even if not human, than anime series where all we can do is wait and see how they are killed off, like sajin komamura or the lizardfolk in overlord.

again, IF YOU LIKE ANIME, COOL, I RESPECT THAT. but. yeah...anime, is not anthro characters friendly.

Yeah, I did forget these shows. But I disagree on some of your examples.
In the owl house, King is just the butt of countless jokes and does literally nothing of worth; We bare bears is one of the children's shows I've mentioned; and I heavily disliked Tuka and Birdie.
I didn't watch Amphibia, so I can't say anything about it.
But you do have a point about bojack and final space being mature shows that treat their anthro characters with respect. But i did point out a few examples of mangas that also do that. try look at some of those i've mentioned and see for yoruself. But, yes, I do agree many mangas and animes treat furry characters poorly.
take for example Crocodine from dragon quest dai's adventure (whose reboot is currently airing) he loses non-stop in battles and, at most, he only wins some side inconsequential characters. hell, the author even made Crocodine sit on the bench during the final battle because "he wasn't strong enough".

crocodine. people sees him as a mindless tank, when he really is a deep character with a serious conflict.  i liked how he respects humans, he actually wants to be one, and he becomes an ally, yes, he is  benched in the final battle. BUT. if he had participated...we all know he would have died stupidly, sorry. anime and manga will never stop using anthros like that. yes, crocodine could have done a lot more than he did, but he survived the series, and actually had development as a character, from goon to hero and friend. again, the main issue with shonen manga, characters are only worth a damn if they can punch someone. that's why anthros in shonen anime and manga are wasted, they are literal punching bags. hey at least crocodine survived....let's hope they dont kill him off in the remake  to be "edgier and more mature" frankly. i am not watching the series. i lioke the original anime and manga, i dont need a remake i am sure is altering all digimon tri levels of bad. whoever enjoys it, cool. i respect that.

the owl house....yeah, i'll give you that. king is basically comic relief, a pet...ok. yep. but...we know he will survive the series and not die saving the hero from something  the hero could have saved himself from easily....remember igneel from fairy tail? he dies horribly because the HERO MUST LOSE HIS PARENTS TO BECOME THE HERO, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS ALREADY A HERO AND IGNEEL WAS ACTUALLY MORAL SUPPORT AND COMPASS. trope. another example of good use of anthros is MAO MAO. the characters actually evolve, the villains, yes, punching bags, but with a substance, you like them and care. and the main characters are cute, yes, but they have a very dark backstory. it can be done. but....as long as people labels crap like overlord and hxh as MASTERPIECES OF ANIME....tat will never change.

oh, i also forgot the king of beasts in one punch man...a literal leomon knock off THAT DIES THE FIRST EPISODES HE APPEARS ON. epic fail.

i loved anime with anthros. digimon adventure was one of my all time favorites, until tri   raped it and killed it for good. like they did with leomon. but, today....nah. only beastars. and, with beastars is manga first, anime second.

bna is a rushed pile of crap...with a baseball game episode where the idea is to see how many characters can be killed off in one episode.  aggretsuko became the LETS MAKE HAIDA SUFFER CUS HE WILL NEVER BE HAPPY CUS LIFE SUCKS THEREFORE THE STORIES WITH TALKING ANIMALS MUST BE LIKE REAL LIFE TOO SO FUCK OFF HAIDA FANS show....ok, that was a lil too much, but, man i loved aggretsuko.

I fully agree that digimon tri is shit and BNA was a waste of time (it had the one of the most annoying MCs I've ever seen and let's not mention the whole "suddenly cerberus" at the end). Aggretsuko is a mixed bag. They should have had Haid stay with Inui or even Tadano (the latter being very unlikely given how conservative Japan is). Aggretsuko's season 3 was doing great until the last episode.

Many animes do mistreat furries, but I managed to find a few that treat them with respect and I'm always on the lookout to see if some do treat, if I happen to find more, I'll Pm you.

Crocodine did have an amazing character development. That's why i got so angry when he was benched in the final battle. I personally would have prefered an hero's death than have him reduced to a cheerleader.
Also, Mao Mao is a somewhat decent series being held back by its child friendly rating.

there was no way to have crocodine on the final battle and survive. anime just wont do that. also, remember, crocodine dodnt like to fight, he wanted peace and friendship. he wanted what humans have and beasts dont, love and a normal life. remember when hyunkel killed him, his last words were WHEN I AM REBORN, I WISH I DO AS A HUMAN. that says a lot about him. he wants peace. he can, and will fight, but he is not all about fight. he is alive.  that's why i loved he sat down the last battle, it was dai's battle. imagine chewbacca fighting alongside luke vs vader and palpatine on episode 6. nope. dragon quest's final battle was dai's fight.

also...i am almost sure the anime remake will kill crocodine. they cant conceive him surviving the series, like dodonga in dragon quest abel densetsu. literally died because plot. OH, THE RESURRECTION SPELL DOES NOT WORK NOW, YIKES, OK, GOODBYE REDEEMED NON HUMAN VILLAIN, WE WILL SUFFER YOUR DEATH UNTIL NEXT EPISODE, AND THEN NEVER REMEMEBER YOU AGAIN.

I'm not againast the notion of a furry character dying in a story, as long as the death is meaningful. For example, in a manga called Mahou Shoujo Tokushuusen Asuka, there was this anthro wolf who was supposed to be this badass fighter and bodyguard for a queen and as soon as he showed up he was killed in a quick and pathetic manner. His death was meaningless, boring and left me angry. But having Crocodine die fighting the final boss while, for example, while protecting Pop from an attack would actually be a touching and actually sad moment in the story, so his death would have meaning.

Also, there is another dragon quest anime?

yep. abel no densetsu, nobody liked it. and man, it has all the anthro hating tropes. cute anthro character that starts as a goofy villain, redeems and then dies stupidly? check. entire non human races destroyed to make the evil guy look meanier? double check, anthro characters die and then are forgotten like they never existed? check. let's say that dai no daibouken is the best they could make.

also, crocodine died once protecting someone, again, his fiight vs hyunkel. also, if you wanna see crocodine being a badass, there is a non canon ova callled the legend of the six generals, he fights an evil minotaur, and man, it's glorious.

I saw that OVA, he was cool in there.

Pity about this dragon quest abel anime.

But i recommend these three mangas for you:

Niehime to kemono no ou: a girl is offered as a sacrifice, but ends up as the wife of a lion/wolf guy (who's the king) and has to face prejudice since she lives in a kingdom were humans are considered lower class citzens. Sounds cliche as hell, but it has a good storyline and the supporting cast is great. My favorite character is her bodygard, who's a hyena.

Kemono giga: a boy suddenly turns into a werewolf and joins a group of other anthro charcaters to fight monsters that eat humans.

Minotaurus' sweetheart: It starts off as a comedy because a human woman misunderstands a Minotaurus and thinks he's in love with her, but around chapter 7 the story gets dark.

not sure, all sound like stupid anthro deaths galore, are they finished or still going? i trusted fairy tail...and igneel, the best deeloped character....was torn into pieces by a cliche character.....
zidanes

They are ongoing as far as I know. In kemono giga, so far, the only deaths are human ones. In minotaurus' sweetheart a wolf anthro dies. And in Niehime to kemono no ou, the human woman is in a country of anthros, so any death (there aren't many to begin with) are mostly on the anthro's side (but the manga starts off estabilishing that humans are often sacrificed)

if well written...and actually contribute to the plot, cool.
