Working on VT video & Dealing with Linux crashes

by
Since I thought people might be interested in an update on the Vore Tournament release, I thought I'd offer one while I'm at it.

I've been spending the last few days working on a release video for VT. It's almost done and hopefully going to be pretty fun once it's ready! Expect to see it on my Youtube channel soon after the release is published. Afterward there will hopefully be another video, highlighting the important changes and features of VT 2.0.0.

I've also posted a few last minute Git commits. They fix some divisions by zero in the code, as well as crediting all +$50 patrons under a "special supporters" category as is implied by the Patreon tier.

Unfortunately testing has been made rather difficult. And as much as I'm sorry to say it, this is the fault of Linux and specifically the indifference of its driver developers; For long over a month, my system has had not one but two different OS induced crashes, which cause the machine to freeze entirely during or after running some applications. Despite writing almost a novel of tests, my reports are being almost entirely ignored, and any complaint toward said ignorance is met with the response "it doesn't matter that bad code on our end is causing computers to crash and putting systems at risk, it's free software so you shouldn't expect much". While I continue to love and recommend Linux, it's a fair warning that if you decide to use it you should be ready to deal with such BS.

Right now I'm waiting for the Mesa 17.1.4 update, which is said to fix at least one of the crashes... not that I believe in bugs or security vulnerabilities getting fixed until I see it with my own eyes at this point. The other crash remains of an inexplicable nature, and I've gotten to the conclusion that it must be a deliberate attack / virus using vulnerabilities in the Kernel or video driver. If anyone wants proof of those problems or is simply curious as to what they are exactly, here are the bug reports concerning the two system lockups I'm currently dealing with:

https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1028575
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100306

https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1046962
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101672

Overall this shouldn't delay the release by more than a few days; Most testing has been done, and at this point I'm only waiting for the Mesa update to reach my system packages so I can hopefully do the final tests in slightly safer conditions. In the meantime I'll be working on other things such as the release video, so time is not being wasted.
