When life gives you lemons...

Make apple juice and let every wonder how the hell you managed it.

My life hasn't been that great the last few months, having problems with this and that not working, losing a friend, and losing my wallet...
There was also 3 weeks where I was working backstage for a musical at a theatre. That took a lot of my time too.
So many small things slowly snow balling, getting bigger until I crack over one small little thing...

On my list of things to do, I have to finish off the comic for the YCH and release a proper demo for the RPG YCH.
Both will take a little time to get done, and I can't work solidly on a single thing for too long, or I burn out, which is why I usually have a few different things going at once. I've been told to focus on a single project until it's finished, but that's when it feels more like work than a hobby.

By the way, just because life gives you lemons, doesn't mean you can't go out and find a few apples.

I'm always out here for a distraction for a while. If you need a day to have a relaxing chat, just let me know and I'll pull an all nighter with you. I know what it's like to try and push a project and then bury it for a long time. You just never really get the motivation back into doing it again when you want to.

I have motivation. I just know my limits and how to be exceed them. I spent 5 solid weeks working on my 3D assignment, and burned out before it was due. The only reason I passed is because the teacher saw the amount of effort I put in, even if I didn't finish on time. I also burned myself out by the end of "Cubs will play" and just couldn't draw for 3 months.life is about learning your limits, and anyone who tells you it's to push them, they are wrong. You push yourself, not your limits.

"You push yourself, not your limits."

What about intensely and intentionally doing the opposite thing for a while? The idea is that after peaking it's time to nose dive so hard that you bounce back even higher.... I mean, push yourself in reverse, and then try building momentum to push yourself past your previous limits.

I have found it useful (after the initial pain acclimation) to spend time meditating on unity with the (personally) worst things ever. Feeling intentionally shitty is cathartic, even if the process takes longer than you want and hurts more than you're prepared for. The two things that I'm personally confident about NOT helping are trying to continue as-is and ignoring the pain. Pain and frustration are important feelings. Moderate suppression keeps one's shit together. Extreme suppression causes emotional constipation, likely followed by explosion (or worse: depression).

I dunno, I'm not a doctor or other qualified professional. I'm just a random insensitive person on the Internet who likes playing with fire after having been burned. If you feel like your mental or emotional state is beyond your control, please seek a trusted friend and/or qualified counselor. You are not alone. You are loved. Keep fighting the good fight, and take care of yourself!

I know how it feels with the "unable to concentrate on one thing for a long time" If ya fell like it's not going forward anymore, take ya time, take ya a rest. Nobody has any benefits if ya burn ya out or rush the work with lesser quality just to "finish the job"
