If you can have one thing... AND ONE THING ONLY, NOTHING ELSE!! D8< ... haha, no I know, but seriously, what would it be? What would you HAVE to have in a game? =P

Lol, fun is a difficult thing to define. Take dwarf fortress, for example...

Yes, it's very subjective, but for me, a game needs to be fun or it's not worth playing. Most games anymore focus on competitive multiplayer or punishing difficulty, and I don't get into those types of games. Most PC gamers, I use a trainer on so I can bypass difficulty and either experience the story or just dick around without having to worry about resets/dying/whatever. One of the most engaging games I've ever played was Saints Row 2. It was flawed, but it focused on letting you dick around and have fun, and it had a very interesting story. GTA, on the other hand, is way more linear and wants you to focus on the missions more than anything else, so it just ends up boring me to death. Another example, my favorite game ever is still Need for Speed 2, from 1997. The graphics and physics are absolutely atrocious by today's standards, but the gameplay was fun for me, and it's something that most racing games since then have failed to capture.

Sex appeal, but it only works if the game is actually fun, too.

Sex appeal, good answer. XD

Though I guess the fun is the tricky part. =P

It really depends on what I'm in the mood for, like if I'm just looking to kill time or if I want to go in for the long haul. The most important thing (to me) is good writing/story.

All else being equal?  Cheat/configuration codes and user-made mods. Banning user mods ensures, nay, guarantees I would never buy the product.  Crap EULAs authorizing rootkit installations are also a big no-no.

Good music depending on the situation.  But only if it's necessary should the game be fan made.

It's not a necessity, but it is a big selling pitch for me if a game has a lot of unlockable outfits, or allows me to make outfits.

Games like Style Savvy are addicting to me, but also games like Saints Row, Senran Kagura... The more outfits there are the more likely I am to buy it.

Cute boys is a big draw for me.  Gets me to play games I wouldn't otherwise play.
