What do you think of art school?

It has been a little over a year since I started sharing art here so I figured it's about time I opened up a little and posted a journal.

First I just want to say thank you to everyone who has ever fav'ed anything or given any kind of feedback on my stuff. It really means a lot to me that you took the time.

Something has been on my mind lately and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion they're willing to share on this: Do you think art school is worth the time and money? Everything I've learned artistically over the last 2 years has been through YouTube, digital tutors, streams, and random Google searches. As I get more "serious" with this stuff, do you think I might miss something important by not getting an actual degree?

If you are looking to switch jobs, I say look more into it. if you are looking to have fun and maybe something down the road, maybe a cert with maya/blender would help since that is what you are focusing on.

Art school isn't a bad idea, but you have to make sure that your committed to that type of career. It can be a pretty competitive field to be in. Make sure to research your schools. I would personally be careful picking private art schools as they can be expensive and offer the same education as public state university. If your only looking to increase your skills, you can learn everything you need to know online.
