I may knock a dollar or so off of these when I sell them, I dunno. They don't look sellable but I have to. xx
Sorry if you guys were like hyped for good not cut-off prints. xx/

They still look good. With prints though you need to make sure there is a bleed line. I learned that the hard way when I made flyers and business cards for a club.

I suggest using this file for a 4 x 6 base http://www.officialpsds.com/4X6-Flyer-Template-RGB-PSD...

I'd never gotten prints before so it's helpful to know. I was just under the assumption that their preview of what the image looked like was, well, what I'd get. The whole thing, unless they have it in an FAQ somewhere, isn't super user friendly if you don't know what you're doing. xox

Well the thing is it varies based on the type of equipment the company you use uses. Most actually hand cut the batch with a press cutter, so the paper creases and is slightly rigid before being cleaned up so in general it's best practice to use a bleed line. Of course the company should also consider that and adjust the image dimensions, which can be bad if the person in charge of that doesn't constrain the proportions. Personally I find it best to go to a local print shop with the file and stand next to the person modifying the file, or if you must do it through an online provider I would research the quality reviews before hand and check out their review process in their TOS. Like anything else though it's a learning experience.

Right, and I'll be more careful in the future and shop around at some other places to see what my best options are. Where I live we only have one small printing company and, from what I understand, they're fairly expensive. It's the downside of living in a small town hours away from anything that has even a good place to buy clothes lmao

Though I do agree, yeah, it's def a learning experience. It doesn't help the disappointment but it does help the security of "now I know to watch out for this"

All in all I do still think they came out okay though, and the great art makes up for the slight flaw, so you shouldn't be too disappointed :3

Agreed! It's only minor and really only a gripe from me as the artist, you know what I mean? Like they look absolutely wonderful, just bugs me cause I know how they're supposed to look. But def not bad by any means!

heh yeah definitely know what you mean. We are always our worst critique, so when something is off there is always that feels. Especially when it's not even something we did XD
