I wonder, what do you think about footpaws? Do you like them? Do you embrace them? =3

(since that's one of the cutest of kinks imho)

I don't have any sexual interest in feet. I appreciate seeing them well drawn, especially rabbit feet that properly lack pads, and they're handy for helping keep cute socks and legwarmers on, but that's about it. That being said, I don't have any objection to footjobs, etc., either.

How soft is your tail?
MeganBryar

It's fluffy and cottony soft. Cottontail = cottony tail!

Hmmm... what was the last song you listened to?
MeganBryar
6 years, 11 months ago
It was Crazy Love, Vol. II by Paul Simon. And/or the whole of his Graceland album. I kind of grew up listening to it, and it's one of the albums I frequently listen to while I'm writing.

Never heard of it. should remind me to give it a listen when I can afford the internet again.

I can't say I'm surprised. The album was released in '86 I think, so it's almost as old as I am. But if you have any interest in Simon's work, it's definitely worth listening to.

Bloody good choice! :)

Thanks! It's one of favorite albums, and I've always enjoyed Simon's work for just about as long as I can remember.

I've been around since "Bridge Over Troubled Water", so I know what you mean. Been a fan of South African music since even before "Graceland", though it helps that I have a connection to the country- I have family living there...

That's an excellent album, too, and another one I'm very fond of. It was partly thanks to Graceland that I got interested not only in South African music, but the history of the country, and of Africa as a whole. I still don't know as much about it as I ought to, but it is quite an interesting place, if awfully troubled.

Indeed! I was proud to see the day when Mandela stepped out of prison, and troubled when his successor, Zuma, pulled all kinds of shenanigans. Most South Africans, black and white, work for common equality, so I watch their struggle with interest. They are my family, so I care, quite deeply. I look forward to that day when Mandela's dream is realised, when all of South Africa knows freedom and equality, together.

Any new fantasy authors you can recommend? Or alternate history, I like that too.
MeganBryar

I wish I knew of any. I haven't made it to a bookstore in forever, so I really don't know of any new authors in fantasy. And I haven't actually read any alternate histories. I keep meaning to try something one day, but my interest in real history has usually won out.

Sorry!

Yes, real history and science in general is fascinating, since Wikipedia got up to speed I haven't had time to follow fantasy or science fiction :) Though I usually buy books for my Kindle.

Now that's a good question! Perhaps we should have a drink or two and see what comes to mind.

I'm thinking Italian, and red wine.
And of course garlic bread.
Maybe veal. ;-)

This weekend, I recovered a 3" deep 12" diameter cast skillet.
Sandblasted all the old gunge and rust off of it and re-seasoned it in the oven.
Monday, I'm a try my hand at fried chicken.
I'll let you know if it turned out like I hope.

Ooh, that sounds like fun. I've never tried fried chicken even in a non-stick skillet, and I'm not sure I'd dare try it in a cast iron one. But I hope it works out for you, and cast iron skillets are pretty nifty! I have small one that I like to use for cornbread.

Well that's the beauty of cast iron.
NOTHING sticks.
Clean up is just "Wipe it out when you're done" (least it slightly greasy)

I realized that as old as I am, I had NEVER fried chicken before.
I made 9 pieces Monday afternoon.

Turned out quite well.

Here's one for you, since you and I are of similar ages:

First, some context. My recent break-up has me contemplating where I want to go from here. Ideally, I think I would get my finances straight, buy a small plot of rural land, and build one of those tiny houses that are becoming so popular. Move out into the middle of nowhere with a couple of Samoyeds and my cat, and maybe find myself a like-minded partner. Enjoy the isolation and the quiet, nights outside next to the fire pit sipping wine or drinking craft beer.

With that being said (and used as an example), how do you envision the latter half of your life, ideally? I'm curious to know how a mature Megan would live.
MeganBryar

That's something I've been thinking about quite a bit lately. Being just a couple of years away from 40 has made me think that I really need to start trying to get my life together a little better. Now, of course, Megan as she exists in my story world would probably do things rather differently, as she has daughters and I don't, and she lives in a rather different world. I suppose that, in the real world, my ideal has always been to try to get the old family farm fixed back up to where I could raise some sheep or goats, and maybe more than a handful of vegetables here and there to take to the local farmer's market. Maybe find a way to actually get at least one book published on paper and garner a small readership. Of course, now there's an industrial park quite literally next door to me and town seems to be getting closer all the time, I'm not sure if that would even be feasible anymore. But it's kind of a nice dream.

That sounds like a lovely and noble dream. Perhaps with the town moving in closer and closer you could sell the property for a decent price and buy a smaller renovation project in a better location. I'm sure the farm has memories, but memories are simply recollections of the past. It might be possible to find something better suited to what you want that will remind you of those days gone by. It does sound like a very sweet life, though.
MeganBryar

It may well come down to that. Of course, half of the property legally belongs to my brother, as it was willed to both of us by our paternal grandparents. So he'd have to agree. But if things get too bad here, there might not be much of a choice. For now, though, I'm hoping it won't come to that.

Do you know enough about Cthulhu and its mythos to have formed an opinion on its story?
MeganBryar
6 years, 11 months ago
Not really, no. I've never actually read any of the original stories, though I keep meaning to. All I really know about Cthulhu comes from random bits of pop culture references, and I don't think it's fair to base any serious opinion on that.
